On sourceforge you find some older and newer versions, but not 50.17 exactly.

But why do you need a specific version in favor to the latest version anyway?

Easy: It's part of the 3.9 ISO.
    ixemul.library 50.17 [notrap, 604e, morphos] (18.03.16)

You might find it in the latest MorphOS 3.10 SDK

Well, it's my fault. I didn't know the SDK will silently upgrade my system :-(

It will be possible to add on MorphOS 3.10 please ? Maybe it already into the ISO :-D

Of course it will be part of the next MorphOS 3.10 update but it also was a requirement for some tools in the already released SDK.

Read the release notes next time :) There's a big fat warning about ixemul there.

Indeed, I found the warning. Maybe the installer should show it before copying to MOSSYS:Libs/?
Best would be to have a fallback to 50.10. I know, it's more work for you but makes life easier for us :-)

Not possible, the reason it requires such specific versions is because there has been internal (either new functionality or critical fixes) changes to the library. However if you as a developer know what you are doing it's still possible to link with older startup code so that latest ixemul isn't required.

The SDK itself requires an up-to-date ixemul and usually relies on bugfixes in said library, so SDK updating the libs is a must, sorry.

If you really need to pass ixemul builds around, bundle the shared library as well. I would strongly encourage to aim for libnix ports though.

    I see.

Your last statement reminds me of Geit.
I told him: The keylargo.resource is buggy, it's impossible to type fast.
He said: It's (maybe) a hardware limitation of the matrix.
Me again: It works flawlessly with OSX.
He again: I use an external keyboard.

Updating the SDK is a very time consuming process. Having to deal with multiple ixemul.library versions would mean almost doubling the work.

I have no idea why you would be talking to Geit about keylargo :)

Okay, I have the source, so I could even support you!

Maybe I was feeling a bit frustrated about Geit ;-)

Funny that "Mr. one word bug report" talks about frustration. :D

PS. I for sure said "Maybe it is a limitation ...".

It's not your fault, you simply didn't hid5de (<< the bug) fast enough at geit@home :-D
BTW #2963 has a few more words.

Why not build the SDK tools without ixemul as well?

That'd open up a different can of worms :) ixemul has case sensitive paths, libnix does not. That'd make it hard to ensure everything cross compiles for example. I have two requirements for the SDK - it has to be able to build MorphOS and it has to be able to build itself (under MorphOS). I have serious doubts that'd be possible with libnix.

Is it possible to upload the said library at morphos storage, or is it prohibited? Even with a notice that it might screw thing up if installed. It is needed for an increased set of proggies and I would rather not download the complete SDK just for a couple of kbs space.

The set consisting at least of the elements mentioned in comment #4 and the one there ;-)
