Butterfly stickers

    Hello everyone,

    I just made a first order of 250 stickers:

    The goal of this project is to speak about MorphOS around you by putting stickers on your machines during gatherings of course but you can also put them on "mobile" supports to show them around you (hardware, cars, mobile, etc ...)

    The first 10 are free for members of the WArMUp association and at the price of 5 euros for the next 10 units or for non members.

    The money raised will go to support developers.

    I've tried to join WArMUP before and it just has not worked correctly for me.

    @Jim,

    Could you explain your problem please ? It's a problem to register on website or to the WArMUp Association ?

    To be a member of the WArMUp Association you must send me your register form and send your member fee for the current year (10 euros) by Paypal button available on www.warmup-asso.org.

    I think "MorphOS" in that sticker should have been added.

    I agree, how would anyone know that it was the logo of MorphOS, and not just a nice sticker of a butterfly?

    People know the Nike 'tick' logo, but I don't think MorphOS has that degree of notice in the commercial marketplace, as yet ! ;-)

    Hi,

    MorphOS is the name of the operating system but it's the name of the butterfly too...

    I think without text, the sticker is more attractive for non MorphOS users.

    MorphOS users interested by the stickers could give one sticker to each members of his family, friend, people at work, etc... with a visit card of WArMUp Association.

    i will open soon a box on WArMup website to buy stickers with a Paypal button. I will send some visit cards with the stickers.

    Not quite. The butterfly is a Morpho. 'Morphos' is just the plural form.

    I think we need to clear up one thing: What exact butterfly species of Morpho genus is used as MorphOS logo? The one Papiosaur used for his sticker seems to have slightly different wing proportions than the one in the MorphOS "About" menu.

    MDW says it's Morpho anaxibia (as seen here), but I guess it could be as well/more probably Morpho rhetenor (here).

    Does anybody know that?

    I asked my coworker also an IT guy like myself, "If you saw that blue butterfly on a laptop, what would you think?".
    he said "Eh. Nothing, I'd think 'hey thats a pretty butterfly' and thats it".

    If it had "MorphOS on it, what would you think, would you google it at least?". His response, "I dunno, maybe, if I was bored".

    Well, at least you got that. LOL :-)

    I agree that some kind of text message would make the stickers more useful to promote MorphOS. Also, the sticker size seems small to me, being about the size of a large postage stamp. I think I would want something a little larger, to make it more noticeable. But at least it is an effort to help promote MorphOS, and the proceeds are going toward helping the developers, so it is a good thing, even if I would have done it a little differently myself.
    MorphOS - The best Next Gen Amiga choice.

    Hmmm.... I try to buy them, but when I click the "Buy Now" button, I get "Error Detected - We were unable to decrypt the certificate id.". Both OWB and TenFourFox give it...
