time ago I had made a mistake: deleting an HD PATA (500Gb) inside a my PowerMacG4 with partitions MorphOS3.0 , OSX, Linux , FAT32 for sharing, yaboot bootloader... etc ...

well today partitioning the same HD PATA in MorphOS3.9 and installing again my last backup (MorphOS2.7) and updating it (MorphOS3.9) and installing OSX, a suprise:

in MorphOS3.9 there are again these partitions: boot01: (HFS) , osx: (HFS), linux: (EXT2), dos: (FAT32) full usable.

Is there a way to try to recover also the file/directory inside the SFS partitions (used with MorphOS3.0) ???
If I go for exemple in format utility I can see old schema of partitions used ages ago:
Apple_HFS_Untitled_2: 111Gb
Apple_HFS_Untitled_3: 18Gb
Apple_HFS_Untitled_4: 11Gb
Apple_HFS_Untitled_5: 9Gb
Apple_HFS_Untitled_7: 69Gb
Apple_HFS_Untitled_8: 19Gb
Apple_HFS_Untitled_9: 9Gb
and also boot01: osx: linux: dos: .....

At least if you have only deleted the partition table (not written other data there), it's possible to get partitions working as they were if you find the exactly same settings to HDConfig like they used to be.

Another option is SFSDoctor in the Tools directory, but I'm not that familiar with it.. could it recover anything if some of the partition values aren't exact...

I had an issue a while ago with one of my SFS partitions, and I was reluctant, initially, to go down the 'repair' option method ... BUT when I did decide to take the 'repair' route it took only a few minutes of disk correction and the HDD file structure was as it was before, and has worked OK ever since.

So, if there is no other way of fixing/repairing it ......... what else have you got to lose? So, IMHO .. I'd give it a try to repair the SFS file structure, and you may end up being pleasantly surprised ........ well I hope so.

As long as you are sure you have tried any/every other alternative to recover the HDD structure already.

If you cannot fix it with any of the SFS tools/Doctor then I think whatever was on that HDD has now been overrwritten or deleted in some/many ways - sadly.

I'm not the most experienced user of SFS, so just hang on in there, someone else may take a peek at this thread and be able to offer you some better advice, but I wouldn't hold your breath for much longer. But it's possible

well, It's not a big problem, I have the backup OS of MorphOS2.7 (only a step before 3.0) and updated now many apps/games installed with geit's Grunch ;) but It's interesting to know if "repair disk..." option could recover these old SFS partitions.
If not possibile, It's not a problem ;)

Have a look at Giggledisk on Aminet. It can recover partitions even if the RDB gets totally wiped, by generating a mount file. Run that, and you may be able to mount the SFS partitions and get your files out.
