According to another topic that my Pegasos2 doesn't seems to boot, I wanted to know if Genesi can repair my Pegasos board or the processor.

I changed everything, I used 2 different PSUs, 3 different RAM modules, 2 different GFX Cards, 3 different HD Drives, another cables to connect the HD and the DVD-ROM, but still NOTHING (only the fans are working!!!).

Please, is there anything I can do, or I miss, before to search for repair of my Pegasos.

bplan, tha manufacturer of the board can and will help you. They have replaced my dead pegII/G3 mobo...

My Peg 2 died some months ago (because of the fan) and is also repaired bij BPlan. I'm a happy user again........

I have a null modem.

Just say, that I will connect the Pegasos 2 with the PC. I must use HyperTerminal on Windows to check that? And then how I will do it. It's my first time and really I don't know anything. Any help will be appreciated.

How I can get a debug output when I connected the Pegasos 2 with the PC via the null modem?

If you still can't using the EJECT button of your DVD, probably the mobo is blocking the +5v line.

Try to powerON the system with the mobo connector disconnected to see if HD will spins and the DVD eject is functioning (the fans are spinning because they use +12v)

Anyway (like it seems) BPlan is your best friend!

According to that, this happens only if I plug the IDE cable to both the HD and the DVD-ROM. Then I don't have power, I cannot eject the disk.

I put out the IDE cable and remove even HD also, but I connected the power, and the DVD-ROM can now eject!!! Marvellous

If you believe that, I tried 2 different IDE cables and the problem is still the same.

if you want to do a last test before sending the mobo to BPlan, test with a multimeter if the +5v is present with everything connected (even on the HD/DVD power connector is ok)

If it's HyperTerminal where I will put these settings u mentioned?

In HyperTerminal you should be able to edit connection properties for a serial (probably COM1) connection.

Yes, HyperTerminal is good for this pupose. IIRC default settings are
OK except the speed value. You should set it to 115200.

this makes me wonder, should I refit my G4 with a heatsync minus fan (ie: passive cooling) or should I offer a trade with someone for my G4 for their G3? Of course fully working... what's your opinions?

One last thing I thought. I searched for a CMOS jumper, so maybe my board needs a reset, but I didn't find anything according to that. Is there any CMOS jumper on the Pegasos board?

I also consider if this has something to do with the battery. I put off the battery and I will check it again tomorrow.

There is no CMOS jumper. And about battery, its not a Teron aka Amiga1 so that wouldnt be an issue. Best bet is to send it to bplan..
