    As of now, MorphOS is not included. We would like it to be, but we are not yet in a position to remedy that situation (but, we are getting closer).

    Wow! That's is an awesome price!

    Too bad MorphOS isn't included -- can anyone say whether this would qualify for "downloading" MorphOS?

    It is the same price for G3 and G4. There are limited quantities of G3's left.

    I think this price is incredible (even though it's temporary). If Eyetech chose the "market skimming" strategy, I think it's clear that Genesi is going for "market penetration" instead. I think this is good. While margins won't make anyone rich in an instant, I think it's important to get the platform as widely spread as possible at this stage (I mean, someone must be able to buy the upcoming CPU upgrades ;-)). Who knows, the Pegasos 2 could perhaps be seen as the icebreaker that clears the path for a fleet that hopefully will follow? :-) (just dreaming away here of course ;-))

    I don't think it's a typo. The price difference was negligible before as well. I think they have got a better deal with Freescale, and that they still have a few remaining G3's left from the time before the Freescale deal that they don't want to sell at a loss? I don't know ...

    Yes indeed. Not the least for MorphOS itself. My thoughts on this is the same as with the market penetration strategy above - it needs to get as widely spread as possible at this point, it needs to get in the hands of as many application developers as possible at this stage. I have written many times that I think both OS4 and MorphOS needs to be freely distributed, on as many platforms as possible at this point in time. Port it to Mac, upload it on file sharing networks, etc, whatever it takes. Now seed, harvest later.

    Reading BBRV's answer above, I think you might perhaps want to direct that question to the morphos-team directly? :-?

    Can you please tell me how I can get the new Openfirmware v1.2 without opening my computer.
    I have here a six figures number (3xxxxx) but do not know if it is the serial number.
    I think many people have the same problem as me.

    Thanks in advance,

    Yes, ODW owners can download MorphOS after signing up at http://support.morphos-team.net/
    I rarely log in to MorphZone which means that I often miss private messages sent on here. If you wish to contact me, please email me at [username]@asgaard.morphos-team.net, where [username] is my username here on MorphZone.

    Well, it is a good price. But what about Tax? If I buy it here in Germany, will I really have to pay only 650 EUR? No additional Tax? No import fees or something? Just the plain 650 EUR?

    The offer is from the u.s.. Prices in the u.s. are normally w/o tax, I guess you have to pay an additional 16% to Mr. Eichel (better hurry up b4 the CDU raises the tax).
    Customs, pfhh? Have a look yourself at www.zoll.de or better at the TARIC, but be warned it's Bürokratie at it's best. I wasn't able to detect a proper category (I guess Abschn XVI. Abschn. 8542) where computers belong to (the list is huge and partially funny - nuclear reactors to import someone ? just look for the customs at the TARIC list).

    Well they deleted the thread at AW.net about this. I didnt think that was all that fair. It also seems that amiga.org did it as well now. Not like them at all.

    Still a great deal for all that want one for sure!

    I don't think you should bother using the words "fair" and "aw.net" in the same sentence. That site clearly reloaded with new, fresh über-moderation blood when DaveP came back in power, and a Pegasos that is cheaper than the A1 (and almost closing in to the Mac Mini now, while offering more) doesn't seem to fit into his perception of reality, and only a certain degree of reality is allowed anyway. So is anyone surprised, really?

    @Acill

    It was moved by one of the moderators into the trashcan forum because it

    read like an advert 'blah blah blah only blah get yours here today!

    *link*'. All that was needed was the cheesey music.

    If we accepted that, we'd have to accept people advertising 80 quid to 300 quid PCs that might if you bought it, be able to run AmigaForever being advertised over the forums.

    I came in this morning, reviewed your posting, restored it to the free-for-all section with the advert removed and the quoting from the terms and conditions that apply.

    http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=12909&forum=6

    Also refer to that.

    If you want to insult me, insult me to my face. You never PM'd to argue with my moderation of you, instead you wander around the net insulting people. I have no problems with reality, you clearly have plenty with courtesy.

    Or are you claiming that I moderated you because the Pegasos 2 is cheaper than the uA1c and the MacMini? That seems like a fantastical avoidance of reality. I don't think *I* am the one with the distorted reality and the attempts to distort reality here. I think your mask just slipped again.

    Maybe amiga.org removed it for the same reasons, advertising spam.

    Further to this, on the thread where takemehomegrandma got suspended ( and then immediately went to whinge on other forums about it despite being invited to get in contact if he had a problem about it ) the first person to get moderated by me was .... oh my god!! a moderator who was also trying to do a 'takemehomegrandma' but in the opposite direction.

    Never mind, carry on in your distorted reality takemehomegrandma where you make up drivel about what my motivations are and what motivates me to moderate people.

    If people want to do the usual armchair judging, wander over to this thread here:

    http://amigaworld.net/modules/news/article.php?storyid=2339

    Follow the posts, see who gets moderated, see who ignores warnings and see who posts a post that is so wayyyy out of line with reality it gets him a suspension.

    You should feel complimented, I rarely do this ( post on the usual people who set 'if you moderate me I'll go smear your name across the other forums' traps ) but in your case, I made an exception, because you peed me off so much with that.

    @Targhan

    Sorry to take up webspace on your forum defending my name.

    @ironfist ( below ) it was posted in the forums, not as a news item.
