    Hi,

I'm waitting for a Pegasos II board and would like to prepar all peripherials for it.

I know no all RAM modules works fine with the PEG 1. Is there something to know to buy DDR PC2100 RAM modules for Pegasos II?

Can it use non registered modules?
    thank you

So far all I have tried work fine. You best bet is to stay away from the cheap stuff and get a good brand name. I am using corsair TwinX RAM.
    Powermac Dual 2.0 GHZ G5 PCI-X (Registration #1894)
    Powerbook 1.67GHZ
Powermac Dual 2.0 GHZ G5 PCIE (Registration #6130)
    A4000T CSPPC, Mediator

Indeed in doubt I'd not go with a cheap module for now but with a well-known brand and even with a faster module than needed. The next version of the firmware is said to be more tolerant, though - but who knows when it will be released...

Myself, I'm using a TwinMOS DDR 400, 512 MB module here.

My first buy though, an Xtreme (DDR 266, 512 MB), didn't work correctly - at least with the initial firmware version. The error was not immediately visible, since MorphOS could be successfully booted with it - the resulting failures were a bit more cryptic. So you should run "memtest" in any case then - I got three errors, while the module passed an intensive test on a PC.

We had a list with working Peg II modules here at MZ already, but since the website's rework it doesn't seem to be available again yet - I'll send Targhan a PM about it.

Has anyone tried EEC/Registered RAM? I tried one stick, that was new, but not one of the best brands. I can't remember who made it exactly but i know it did not work.

    I usually use PC2100 Unbuffered Non-Parity RAM.

I'm sure there are a few "Power Users" out there that can share their comments on EEC RAM. Thank you!
