AciII : If we were able to get the Chinese market that would do so much for the advancement of the playform and the OS.

Well, for other than strictly embedded uses, I can't honestly say that a country like China (or any other) would be serving its best interests to get involved with any OS without a memory-protected multiuser model - POSIX and Open Source is the way to go - and also because there are high-quality [semi]proprietary OSes that would be useable in conjunction with the Open Source ones. There is a lot of weight to that POSIX connection and its porting implications. I also believe for more sophisticated embedded uses that having those same abilities/features has become increasingly important - save for occasional odd-spec'd projects (which could nevertheless be quite lucrative, but harder to sell).

    But Pegasos: I think that is a different story altogether : }

There's no difference as well which kernel I use... as well 2.4.x panics as 2.6.1 to 2.6.7 did and does, again it doesn't matter if those are precompiled by Sven or self-compiled by me.

We'll see if that upcoming update will turn my peg2 into a stable machine... ;)

Well, just to give a feedback on this issue as promised...

In the meanwhile I got a chance to test the new OF update, but the problem still existed. Thanks to Sven and Nicolas the probable reason was discovered. There seems to be a problem with some 750cxe opcodes (namely dcbz) which are used in Linux, but its errata not properly handled by the OF.
Because the OF update didn't changed anything for me (except the support of the GbE), I went back to the last public release.

Anyway, a new public release of the new OF update would be nice.

Hi, Bbrv , you search for a more extended market for morphos, one of those will be the Next Gen consoles like Ps3 or xbox2 morphos on those machine will be amazing cause of the prices and the speed (3ghz of pure power) it sounds great if we can target those hardware !
i suppose no new pegasos will be released whtih cell processors ? Why ?

However, there will be some VERY BIG News this week.

We all know why the Freescale effort got bumped off the track, but we are working it back into the scheme of things and the news coming this week will be the biggest news ever. Just wait!

    Hi Pippi

Remember that morphos is very little and light when compared to MacOS, and maybe the emulation would simply
    better.

I like morphOS very much, of course I prefer to use
the board I bought (Peg II), but morhpos in x86
boxes is a nice idea, could be this the
beggining of a kinda revolution ? ;-DDD

When we turn into a real Company with more BIG strategic partners and steady cashflow... don't worry, it won't be long.

We will be very happy to restart solid support MorphOS again, and will.

I would consider a dual G4 card with a slight increase in clockspeed to 1.5 GHz would make it very compatible with today's computers out there... a G5 is probably out of the question (on the Peg-II) and so is hiking the speed upwards 2+ Ghz... then there was the question of the price of such a card ;-).
