SNDF is going on for a while now, so I guess everyone would like to hear some report from there.
Did our mates over there convince the whole IT-world to go for the Peg & MOS?
Will HP drop x86 immedeately to go for PegPower only? Is Bill Gates selling his MS shares right now to purchase some Freecale shares to ensure his pension?
Was the support for Targhan not necessary because Metrowerks suddenly showed up with some MOS native Codewarrior?
    Is tomorrow really Friday?
    There are loads of questions...

C'mon give some report or feel free to speculate what's going on.

It's old news but probably not everyone knows:
Motorolas chip making branch Freescale announced new processor lines eg. e600 as a new G4 and e700 a 32/64 Bit processor. Unfortunately no timescale was given.

    Donar and All,

The people of Freescale/Motorola have been very gracious, and I believe we will get some more information from them to be available here in the near future. Cross your fingers, and maybe we will have some good stuff for everyone ;-)

Motorola/Freescale have nothing to do with the G5...

So you say we are all getting free Pegasos III
Dual Processor machines that are based on a
    Motorola e700 Dual Core!
Thats four processing cores in one machine,
what a Beast! Maybe each core has a virtual
    processor in it like Hyperthreading.
So 8 Processors in a Box.

Anybody here who likes to programm
    it??? :-D

But hey we could start 8 instances of DNetC
on it. And it will never be cold in your home
    during Winter.

Ok just kidding but i couldn't resist.

That's (probably) really great news! I hope that this will move things forward on all fronts. Congratulations! :-)

The Pegasos II is truly a great computer, one of a kind, and I am not surprised they want it! :-)

I'de like to add something to this :-)

Time and time again, people would come to the internet cafe with the notion that they were regular PC's. Even with clear acrylic cases, many would "see" a regular PC. Then, when learning that the machines were PPC based, their eyes would open wide in amazement. I was asked many times, on a daily basis, if the systems were available to the public.

I got the feeling that the form-factor and the ability to use industry standard AGP/PCI cards was more impressive to many of the attendees than any perfomance comparison.

Wow thats good news! I still cant get linux installed though! How the heck do you guys do it?!!

This is some awsome news though! I can see the Pegasos blow past the A1 now!! Will MorphOS still be updated in the future? It sounds to me like Linux is to be the primary OS for the Pegasos platform for now on. This would upset me quite a bit.

    Hi Acill

I wouldn't say primary or secondary. It is more of a symbiotic relationship. MorphOS needs time to mature and grow. Linux can give MorphOS that needed time. Linux has grown to the point that it needs to ship with computers by default instead of as an option. Every system we ship will come with MorphOS. The ODW's will all ship with multiple flavors of Linux as well. In my opinion, this is only a good thing--because people need a choice.

Choice: It isn't a good thing; it's the ONLY thing!
