    and why is this great?
morphos on efika should run all apps that can be used with morphos on pegasos. you only have to look for morphos software.
this are news about stuff that is allready known.

Yes, antibike much of this is known to existing users, but the idea is to expand the market. This is the idea behind the $99 EFIKA. We need to grow the user base and general computing market interest to help drive more choices for users and growth - new developers, new applications, new markets, etc. We hope that begins to happen more soon.

Well, while getting all these images delivered to my server, I noticed several tools, applications and games I didn't knew about.

Having a page where all pictures are linked to the applicaton pages or download path would be a great thing for everyone.

If you (or anyone else) thinks there are pictures of applications, tools and programs missing, feel free to upload them.

I expanded my ambient account to allow anyone to easy help us collecting more images.

Server: ftp://geitathome.dyndns.org user: "ambient" password: "ambient"

Beside the beta drawer containing latest "non debug"-Ambient, you'll find a drawer for screen shot upload. Please read the note to maximize your chances that your image will be used.

Just counting this year we already had eight news-items about new versions of SearchStar so far.

    Thanks, Itix! :-)

    --------------

My original archive (398 DualPNG icons) is available here.

I've just uploaded 100+ more DualPNG icons here. (including a few MOS specific ones).

    Screenshots.

Ambient supports these dualpng icons, however it isn't full support, and make them unusable (when saving size of window it is downgrading drawer icon to one state icon, it isn't possible to copy icons in information window, only first state is copied.) Personally i don't like glow effect, so it isn't wrong to me ;). Your icons are nice, I am sure that i'll use some of them. Why do you use 46x46 format instead of 48x48? :-)

    Too bad.

This stuff is brand new, so there are bound to be issues at first. Unfortunately I sold my Pegasos 1 a couple of months ago, so couldn't test it.

Because Mason told me to! ;-)

Seriously, for whatever reason, that was the size Matt Chaput used when he first came up with "Glow Icons". I'm just following his example (with more colors).

Don't worry. Ambient is progressing very fast :-) Itix is very fast :). For now it is possible to make two state icons 100% compatible with Ambient using glow32 tool, but both icon pictures are needed. Huh, Matt Chaput is very popular, soon you will see glowrevoution3 pack made by bojan and me (48x48! :P ). I'm responsible of mime icons part. Anyone who wants see real animated icons will be unsatisfactioned. ;) Too much work to animate... Use normal PNGs or die! ;)

It might not be so great for us, since we knew most of, if not all,
those programs, but it is very nice to introduce MorphOS to those who
are new to it: in fact this post to BBRV's blog made it to OSNews.com...

BTW, I love this image (JoBBo rulez!):

    Kind regards,

Well, some things will be and some things are:

    MacMigaEFIKA

The point is there were many people involved in developing the applications featured in yesterday's blog. Thanks to Jochen Rhein, Guido Mersmann and Axel Knabe the screenshots were collected. Today, (based on Axel's case work) Mark Benson has contributed to the process of community too. It becomes a virtuous cycle of development and sharing that advances the platform and Community.

That is how we see it. The good news is that others came to learn more about MorphOS thanks to the OSNews coverage (as well as articles & blogs in Sweden, Hungary, Italy, Poland and Spain):

Without all the good people involved the interest level would not increase. It works. Let's press ahead. :-D

    Please see OSNews Comment.

Please don't be bothered by the OS4, AW.net or amiga.org comments. Many, many others are all part of the same positive mindset. Just let the EFIKA and MorphOS speak for itself. Gravity will pul them all into one big happy family eventually...;-) OK, maybe not everybody, but we can try!
