It should be a small case with a small footprint IMO. So many cases are big and clunky. The Pegasos doesn't need a big case normally, unlesss you have a lot of cards in there. Hopefully you also find something easy and inexpensive!
I have a design in mind for a Micro-ATX cube and mini-tower case for the average user and a mid-tower case for power users. It would be really cool to have a company produced case, that has an option for clear sides for the modders out there. This would help users feel more connected to their Pegasos system, rather than having some of the really ugly off-the-shelf cases that I have seen. I'm a visual person, which btw is great for a programmer. I make oil paintings as a hobby... My college professors told me that I will be a better programmer in the long run, because I don't think like most linear programmers do. hehehe
People have to remember something... The tech savvy person, like most of us, likes to build their own system. That is a given. We would love a case that offers us a better connection to the company and the Pegasos/MorphOS platform. I would buy one in an instant. But here is the more important point... If Genesi wants to get the general public buying into the Pegasos/MorphOS platform, they must have a pre-built solution for the public to purchase from a Pegasos dealer or off of Genesi's own website. I cannot stress this point any more. They could build a complete unit for the customer, or for the do-it-yourself type have the motherboard installed in the case so all they have to do is pop in their peripherals when they get it. Genesi should learn from the mistakes that all computer companies have made by not being flexible enough for the buying customer.
I hate the fact that I have to find a case for my Pegasos II. I would much rather have a more elegant solution from Genesi. If I can help in this area with what is in my head, I will have contributed a lot to getting the MorphOS community more recognised by the general public. In case some haven't noticed, the general computing public is starting to seriously look at the platform. I am one of them...
I did not know anything about the Pegasos II until the beginning of September.
I find the Pegasos/MorphOS platform to be a breath of much-needed fresh air. I absolutely love the butterfly logo that they have for MorphOS. That is going to be a key design element on the cases I have in mind. Personally, I am tired of the sickening and ever increasing amounts of money I have to pay for apps to do certain things on my computers. The Mac platform is famous for that, and the Windows platform is full of so much crud software, it is hard to decide what to buy. I think most people will agree with me on that.
Hopefully BBRV and the rest of the Genesi team will like my ideas. If they do, I get the first perfect one of any case off the production line.
That's all I ask for from these ideas of mine.
