I know for certain that the upgrade scheme worked flawlessly in many (all except one?) countries, involving many dealers and many users. I think it's a shame that it didn't work everywhere; that some dealers and some users were less honest and tried to profit from Genesi's good faith in them. I am quite tired to see these threads of people crying "give me, give me, give me" in what seems like an endless stream of cries, without listening to the explanations and responses that actually are given. My recommendation to Genesi for the future is to either stop dealing with said dealers/users and/or never offer any upgrade schemes at all in the future.

I tested 1 DVD Lg, 1 cd-rw lg, one cdrw benq and one really old 2x acer cd-r
In morphos all runs fine, but in openfirmware only the 2x cd-r.

Well, no problem, I have my morphos up and runnig :)

LG is crap in CD/DVD readers and rewritters, one LG reads slower than a plextor, is slower starting to read it, can't read some disk with problems and one plextor can... So yes, it can run, but is a very bad drive on all platforms...

Funny. I have never had any problems with LG drives. Now I have three of them, my next choice will probably be LG aswell.

When Plextor can match LG's price/performance ratio I might consider it.
