Sadly I got 0 orders from MorphOS customers for this new product, I guess the market still has to grow some more. Maybe your all to busy playing with your brand new PegII systems to order software for them?

yes, i think that we need pci drivers for a good capturer, and firewire stack... And nice program(s) for non-lineal video editing on MorphOS...

I agree. There is a need for larger audience with variable needs. For example even if I would get this for free, there is no use for me for it.
In a nichemarket with a nicheproduct.. what did you expect?

Nope, this works fine for compositing with programs like ImageFX 4.5 under MorphOS. It does not require a Video Toaster Flyer, I include several versions of the software on the CDs.

We are working on that at DiscreetFX but it would be nice to also sell our available tools to help fund projects like Ami[2].

I understand hooligan, in retrospec the
Amiga/Video Toaster Flyer version of Pyromania sold very well to both Amiga users and Flyer users. About equal across the board.

    http://www.softhut.com/pyro.html

And Pyromania cost more than the special price on Spontaneous Combustion.

    Amizilla,

Why not give us a description of what it does, and maybe point to some sample output. I am not sure what the intrest would be, but you should probably consider many things MorphOS as a virgin market. Remember, you are known for Toaster/Flyer things, so you may have to help "educate" the market a little. (And, yes, the market does need to grow some more too....)

Sexy Smoke is kind of hard to describe. It is one of the included effects though.

To be honest after reading the original news item I had the simple question forming in my mind too: what?

Read it two or three times, and I was still puzzled. There was the option to call or write an email, yet...

So I think the original news item is to blame.

I understand warface, I wrote that with very little sleep (Andy & I had spent many hours getting the product done in time for the end of 2003). What was it that was not clear in the Press Release? How would you have written it better? Thanks in advance for your hlep.

When MotionStudio is ready I am sure many
more MorphOS users could be interested. :)

    http://www.titan-computer.com/motionstudio/index.html

I do have some questions though, is the content
mainly for doing transitions or more like
overlays? Once purchased, is the content
considered "royalty free" for use in any kind
of projects? Even non "video" related or
    commercial uses?

For MorphOS it would be used for overlays or compositing. You could use it with ImageFX, fxPaint, Photogenics 5.0 and many more applications. Yes it is royalty free and can be used in games, video's DVD's Etc. The Amiga verison of Pyromania is used all the time in games and TV shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Blind Date. Why do I mention Pyromania? Spontaneous Combustion is the unoffical sequel to it.

May I ask how you know that no MOS-user bought ot ?

After a quick scan over your site I found no sign of a special MOS-version,
or the possibilty to say "I'm blue" within an order.

Looking back at the Amiga-SW I bought in the last 14 months, I can't remeber
ever mentioning that (except when I was unsure if it would run), so I see no
reason why it should be different with you.

I was also amongst those who thought this was something specially for
the Toaster, so better recheck your PR next time ;-)

The stuff shown on your site still seems to me to be more targeted at those
doing video/animation than those doing single pictures, and since there
is (sofar) no SW of neither kind for MorphOS ..... :-(

But don't take my word on this, my avartar is the best that my GFX-skills (or better
lack of skills) allow me to master :-P :-x

The MorphOS version is included with the Amiga version on the same CD-ROM. I request what specs each customer has before I ship their order. Sometimes PC users order the wrong version, Amiga instead of PC.

I remember this product from the "old days". This is the sort of thing special effects people (like myself) often use.

it's basically like any artist collects a bunch of different pics of things and when a project come along and I need, say a "cat" and a "hat", I go looking in my box-o-crap for anything suitable.

when I have various pics I figure out how to put them togther. A Hat on a Cat.

animations (usually as a series of frames) of smoke or explosions are useful because it cheaper to composite a picture with those elements than risk life and limb with a real bomb.

especially as you often would end up with the police on your lawn.

This product is useful for people who make commercials, games, wedding videos, and other local video services.

it would also be good for demos!

when kermit sends me the IFX4.5 CD I should see about making a few tutorials, etc.

Uh no MaSC, the Amiga version of Pyromania was used not the PC version. Sometimes they also used the Amiga Video Toaster Flyer version. Both versions are included on the same 2 CD set.

it might be a good thing to have a comprhensive list of the projects this has been used on. maybe in the form of an mpeg demo or something.

amizilla: For some people like me.. Even getting full versions of FXpaint and ImageFX takes a long consideration.. Not because programs ain't good and worth the money but for simple basic reason thtat I don't do virtually any paint/gfx stuff even as a hobby.

I know.. I could learn to use them and become better in time.. But anyhow.. that would take a considerable time and I'm quite sure I would not need extensions like this in the beginning..
