Will you be taking pointers from Abiword? AmigaOS4.1 has a port (version 2.8.6 originally from 2013 used by Edgar Schwan as a base, uploaded to OS4Depot in 2020) and the source code is also available from OS4Depot in the link I provided, at the bottom of the page, since Abiword is licensed under the GPL and any modifications/derivatives, like this one, must likewise be released under the same licensing terms with the available source code.

Surely it would be less strenuous to port Abiword instead of starting from scratch. If AmigaOS4 users can have it, then so can MorphOS!

AbiWord v2.8.6 is from 2010. The initial AmiCygnix port is from 2013.

    > uploaded to OS4Depot in 2020

    There've been 4 releases of AbiWord v2.8.6 for AmiCygnix: r1/r2 in 2013, r3/r4 in 2020.

    > If AmigaOS4 users can have it, then so can MorphOS!

AbiWord runs on AmiCygnix (see your OS4Depot link), which runs on OS4.

@ Papiosaur - definitely some improvements to see there, and nice to see these changes working already so early on in your development of this program. 8-D

@Andreas_Wolf GOOD NIGHT how could I have been so sloppy? The usual excuses I could deploy are “i just got off work and it was past midnight in my time zone”, and “in my zeal to help Papiosaur I haphazardly came up with some suggestion which would be better than nothing” (all of which are true), but I digress…

@Papiosaur the next updates in the coming weeks will include line spacing, text alignment, inline and "floating" image insertion, headers and footers, and finally read/write support for the .docx file format, ultimately leading Stylos to reach the level of, say, Angel Writer for Microsoft Windows. Just kidding, update at your own pace ;)

Popiosaur: Don't give up. Angel Writer doesn't use MUI, but Stylos does!

Speaking of "messengers from Heaven"...(I shouldn't call myself that.) If you need a good file loader: https://github.com/opendocument-app/OpenDocument.core implements a webview for viewing LibreOffice files on phones! It has a short and concise C++ codebase and would make a lovely datatype if you want added bonus points.

I work on my projects every day many hours and help me from IA but it's not very "stable" and sometimes it causes more problems than it solves, but generally i progress with many patience...

A demo version will be available soon on MorphOS-Storage.

Significant progress has been made in version 0.6. The program is now "usable" despite its alpha stage. I wish you much patience and free time, and I look forward to future releases. Thank you.

This promises to be a great word processor for the MorphOS 3.20 release :)

This looks absolutely wonderful! I really could use a simple word processor that isn't bogged down with so much bloat. I generally use Google Docs, but frequently have to troubleshoot my way out of formatting hell whenever I get going.

I don't have printing set up on my MorphOS, so hopefully simply "Print to PDF" would be high on the list.

@ Papiosaur - I also think you have done a lot in a short time to make Stylos functional, though I have not printed anything out from it as yet, but there is currently no print requester to fine-tune any requirements prior to printing, such as choosing a page or selection of pages or odd or even pages to print to be able to manually duplex print the pages required. However, you are still in the early days of development, which I totally understand, but great that you have been able to release an alpha version at such an early stage, and it seemingly works OK. 8-D

How many Undos/Redos can it handle, as there is no setting to choose, as yet. I tried 3 Undos and it handled that number OK, so a few at least already! 8-)

    @Papiosaur

This looks better and better all the time.

I'm looking forward to buying the Mirari and installing MorphOS on it. This will definitely be one of my first installs after that!
