Phew, they are released. usergroup.library is not a part of ezTCP, it's a separate project now aimed at compatibility with ixemul.library and nothing more. Nothing else rely on it, i even hope to drop it at all if i could make an agreement with MorphOS team about ixemul.library modification.
usergroup.library source code is open at Unmorphos and can be turned into something more useful if someone wishes. Remember that i don't count it to be a part of ezTCP and i don't share the bounty currently. Current version is good enough, all critical bugs i'll fix myself, i just won't develop and improve this library.
    See details in downloads descriptions.

2 Stevo: please check cathegory of usergroup.library download when you approove it, seems that i forgot to specify "System/Libraries" there...

Yeah, I managed to get smbfs working now. ezTcp is getting better and better, but the stack itself seems to be much slower than Genesis in 68k emulation. Will the final version be faster than the current one?

Nice job Sonic ;) Hm, I guess I could give a try with mldonkey now. Anyone tried it already ?

Regarding the recvspace variable, doubling it with miamidx also had a substantial impact on the performance of smbfs. Like doubling the transfer rate.

    No problems with MlDonkey here.....

Or now that I tested it more I'm not sure fi I'm able to download anything, searches and all work fine, but so far I've got nothing downloaded... This might not be ezTCP related though...

    You can find it here: Database -> SysCtl -> net.inet.tcp.sendspace & net.inet.tcp.recvspace.
For me it's 16384 by default.
At least I think this is the value Mahen means.

And yet another update has been released:

    EzTCP 0.7 - https://morph.zone/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?lid=334

    1. ixemul.library applications don't crash on Ctrl-C anymore.
    2. Fixed small bug in hostname lookup (searching in aliases in hosts file was case sensitive)

Sonic is currently working on socket events implementation, next update will include it.

    usergroup.library 4.2 - https://morph.zone/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?lid=349

    1. Now creates a new library base per a process and holds all process-specific data there. This avoids memory trashing.
    2. Uses intuition.library instead of timer.device - more clean code.

At this rate Sonic's version will surpass the version the MOS team was working on, at least if its at a stand still. It would be nice to see his become the official MOS stack.

There were some pseudo-problems reported with increasing buffer space. At some point ezTCP stops working. This is not a bug but a (mis-) feature. There's a limit on this. I studied the code, but was inable to fully understand how this limiting works, it's a bit compex, but the result is that you can also try increasing "MBC_CLUSTERSIZE" option, default for it is 2048. This option works together with TCP buffer size. Just play with them.
And, please, dear testers, pay great attention to DOMAIN line in resolv.conf. Leo42 reported that he still experiences problems with it. I heard no additional reports on this, in my LAN where i have DNS server for test purposes now everything works fine. My guess is that his DNS is a bit weird and needs some tweaking in the code, i'll produce a version with debug output turned on for him.
Also get ready for socket events testing, the first version of the code is alreasy written, today or tomorrow i'll build it. There will be also a version with debug output enabled.

Socket events code is on the way. Yesterday i built it, but had no time to test with AmiNetRadio. Will start debugging today..
2 Leo: i remember about your domain lookup problem, but we'll have to wait a bit until socket events code is confirmed to be stable.
The same about performance issue. A test version with hacky timer code will be produced at the same time - after v0.8.
I decided to delay dealing with these two issues just in order not to introduce several modifications in different places, to simplify debugging.

hmmm, i'm no 100% sure but i think that ezTCP (or rather usergroup.library) doesn't preserve protection bits. for example: i downloaded ambient files from ambient cvs and many files doesn't have E od R protection bits and during downloading i have to press <enter> because downloading stop and wait

Hm... TCP stack has absolutely nothing to do with protection bits of CVS files...

What exactly do you mean? Downloading files from CVS works incorrectly?

Yesterday AmiNetRadio at last stopped crashing. Socket events seem to start working. Only basic test was performed yet (starting ANR, events setup and error processing) since i have no working shoutcast server yet. Selcocast works badly and trashes memory, looks like its own bug.
Also syslogger is rewritten at last, hopefully really fixed this time, no more "message lost" problems should be there.

Yesterday I tried version 0.8, and I can say it's quite stable.

I couldn't try since 0.3 or so, because I've been on vacation, but I must say thw work has been very hard since then.

The trial was just, open the stack, and try to use the peg normally. I worked with it about 3 hours or so, and everything went fine. Very good work till now. Keep it up!

Didn't finish all the work but it's close.
Played with selcocast, ixemul and usergroup. Usergroup is really fine now, there are no problems. I even built a custom version of ixemul.library which is able to work without usergroup.library, selcocast still crashed. This means - it's broken application. We are co-working with its author but he's busy so progress is slow.
Today i'll try with MP3 files on a HTTP server.
This version of ixemul.library for MorphOS will not be released because of an agreement with MorphOS team. But it can be built from CVS at http://sourceforge.net/projects/amiga whose main purpose is to maintain m68k version of the library.

Sonic just so you know and have a place to start from when you get to it. You can find a DHCP patch on Aminet for AmiTCP. I thik it included the sources. I guess if anything it could give you an idea of how to start it and get it working.

Reading that brings up a thought in my head: You DO have some backups for your project, right? ;-)

Otherwise a HDD crash would suck big! :-)
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :-)
MorphOS NG will be AROS done right! :-)
