Genesi has licensed ODM Technologies Inc. to produce the EFIKA design with the Pegasos HAL/OF. The license agreement includes a provision for a minimum production quantity of 50,000 units. The EFIKA board is to be the foundation for number of ODM products. The centerpiece to the EFIKA is the Freescale MPC5200 SoC (system on a chip).

    I strongly hope Efika in the end will turn out to be something cool. If this deal means it can be manufactured in China, in large volumes, then the price tag will drop to the fraction of the current one, which will mean there will be more people willing to purchase one, which will mean...

    I read it like it is ODM Technologies Inc that will do their own manufacturing. I'm sure they will produce it where it's cheap enough, I mean, for 50,000 units even pennies makes a difference ... ;-)

    And ODM Technologies have offices in China. That made me guess :-)
