April Fools Day pranks are traditionally performed before 12 midday, but this story was posted after 7pm. Either:
1. The story poster didn't know about the tradition. 2. It was before 12 midday in their time zone when the story was posted. 3. The best news the MorphOS community has had in a long time.
I suspect that the answer to the puzzle is no.1. My heart wants me to believe no.3.

Yes, JoBBo is a member of the MorphOS team. He is Andre Siegel, and he is the author of most of the gfx in MorphOS (icons, skins, but also websites, pictures, including the one you find in this very news). Yeah great news... It is about time for 2.0 to be released I just hope that it will come with a stable and fast web browser in the standard setup. Sput is cool but it would not work very well with many sites. I can enjoy my videos, listen to music, burn DVDs and play games with Peg2... If I had a good browser to surf the net Peg2 would be my main machine :D
