Software : : Dragon - Screendragging makes a return
Posted By: Gelb. on 2005/8/24 17:51:04
AmigaZeux is proud to announce a breath-taking *surprise* - DRAGON. DRAGON is a CyberGraphX accelerated screendragging utility combined with a GUI.

With its DRAGON commodity development, AmigaZeux brings to Amiga computers top performance of the latest screendragging technology, the successor of the 68k screendragging AGA dynasty.

'By combining many attractive features like the Drag Anywhere paradigm, Corner Drag and powerful Qualifier Technology, DRAGON-equipped Amiga computers and clones turn into modern, fast and extremely functional power machines,' said Pavel Stefanski, president and polish Amiga user.

With its GUI design, the DRAGON can be easily configured to meet the needs of the most demanding Amiga (and clones) users.

The DRAGON commodity is available now, download here.

A preview video of DRAGON is available here.

I like this program. Simple, effective, comfortable - an example of excellent job of #AmigaZeux crew.

    Nice!

Too bad I have some delay between I start to keep mouse button pressed/move the mouse and the screen effectively starts moving down... (~several 1/10th secs)

What about the ability to release mouse button without the screen to go back to its position ?
OS4 intuition seems to allow that...

What ? No 5 pages of dancing bananas and crazy people prophesying the return of the great Amiga like on amigaworld.net ?

Pfew, I'm relieved, there may still be hope ;)

(nice work Ultragelb anyway ;) BTW someone said it was possible to drag'n drop icons from one screen to another on OS4, which could be useful - is it true ?

Well I can only guess, but I believe someone got confused of Art Effects App Icon. If you don`t look close enough, it looks indeed like the Icon was "dropped" on Art Effects Screen while it actually was dropped on the App Icon above.

but back on topic, the Idea is nice imho, I used Screendraging quite often back in the Amiga days and it was somewhat cool just to scroll up and down another screen, do something on it and scroll back.
Unfortunatelly this is not possible with dragon :(
As nice it looks, it is not very useful, for screenswitching there are much more comfortable ways to do that. But Gelb (It was Gelb who did that right?) is a very productive guy, so he will hopefuly find a way to implement that too :)

    Yep, Gelb rules !

BTW, Gelb, what about a self bounty for an up-to-date and stable MOS native AmiTradeCenter ? We really lack this kind of apps a lot :) (I saw a recent update of the E compiler...)

Personnally not to crash too much I use FTPMount... But even this one can crash in some cases...

This is a very cool piece of software. It's not
exactly like the old screen dragging but it's still
pretty useful just to see whats happening behind
    the current screen. Nice work.
