UPDATE! You can KEEP your Pegasos-1 for only 100eur more!
See BBRV's Blog for more information!

Just in time for summer, Genesi is preparing to offer a 200 Euro Pegasos I to Pegasos II upgrade.

Standing behind it's promise to Pegasos I buyers, Genesi is readying to initiate the Pegasos I to Pegasos II 200 Euro upgrade offer. Use 'Read More' to read about the requirements.

NOTE: This upgrade includes a processor upgrade to the G4.

1. You must have purchased the board and be the original buyer.

2. The Pegasos I and 200 Euros must be returned before the upgrade will be sent.

Shipping is not included. This offer is being made by Genesi directly and not in conjunction with Resellers.

If you are interested in the offer, please send an email to sales@pegasosppc.com by 30 June, 2005. Please also include the serial number of your board.

Thanks!

Why update to Pegasos II G4 without MorphOS 1.5? No new versions, Genesi not bundling MorphOS with Pegasos and not altivec support...

Dont be so negative timo. one step at a time... Besides, even without the altivec support there is a decent increase in performance.

pop open the hood and look on the backside of the cpu-card for a sticker with the bplan logo. If you don't see it, please PM me.

The serial number of the Pegasos I is the MAC address (media access controller). You can find this by launching a network driver and you will find it in the status box.

We will post more on this later this week.

    R&B :-)

When will the shipping of Peg2 boards begin (I'm thinking about 300 euro offer)? Can I assume that payment will be begin shortly after deadline and boards will be send as soon as Genesi will recive money? I just want to know how long would it take to have a new peg :-).

Boards will be send from Germany or from USA?

Suggestion: Since the returned Pegasos 1 boards would have been donated anyway (to Linux developers) and would not have generated income, why not strike the "100 EUR more" part and let the end users handle the donation locally? A Pegasos 1 user buys a replacement board and sends the old board to a MorphOS developer in his/her country. Developer selection could be done at the direction of Genesi or the customer suggests a developer. Such setup would save forbiddingly high international postage costs.

Does the "100eur more" offer include its own
    MorphOS license?

The 300 EUR offer is just too tempting. I already have a subject to whom I'd give my Peg I.

Dietmar: That's a neat idea. I just can't help but to wonder how that would be handled from an administrative standpoint though. If it could be done, I WOULD love to see it happen.

Wow, this seems like a very good thing! I'd use it right away if my
    board filled the criteria.

As for the donations.. well, imo if someone is not even willing to pay
100 EUR for a fully functional Peg 1 board, how interested can that
person be, really? Remember, you still need ram, hard drives etc..
If this offer is handled as announced with no problem, I think that's
just great, and we shouldn't try to ask for more and maybe get some
half promises but rather be happy that the old promise seems to be
held finally, and made even better now with the 300 EUR offer.

Good news. I'm happy, I could upgrade my pegasos.
I have a little question. I sent some informations to
sales@pegasosppc.com, and I haven't got any confirm. I'm not sure,
    if someone recived my letter.

The same with me, no reply yet. Hope they only wait till 31. A short "received" reply would be nice though :)

Althought I sent the Mac adress, I've made a couple pictures of the mobo, maybe I just missed the serial number. Can anyone see it?

    The pictures are here

If you are using an integrated ethernet card with MiamiDx go to Hardware -> Eth -> SANA-II paramaters -> Hardware address. But any other TCP/IP stack should be able to display MAC of ethernet card (it's also called hardware address, like in MiamiDx).

BTW. I also send an email with information and got no reply. But when I was asking about some details of upgrade early this month I got reply in about 10 mins :-).
