    After all my hard work on this store, there is no reason for poundsmack not to rush out and buy one, right? :)

    Neko, you put a wrong price for the G3 into the database I assume?
    Why is the price for the g3 that closely to the g4? I guess the
    reason is not to please all those Peg1 owners like me that they own a
    really precious maschine..?

    The prices are correct. Basicly its to get people to order the G4 over the G3. I asked BBRV the same things while beta testing it for em.

    I don't know if I'm the only one who notice it, but to sell more Pegasoses priced should fall down, not rise...

    bbrv said about lower prices, now are higher prices, lol...

    @marcik

    Yes, eyetech does and is very few selled. Genesi did the most stupid
    thing ever!!! Better not sell G3 than that, doing this seems another
    crap company as eyetech, and $615USD for an Pegasos IIG4? More
    expensive? CRAP CRAP VERY CRAP

    Soon the Pegasos II will cost as the AmigaONE :lol:

    The G4 is less then it was when I got mine. The G3 isnt being manufactured any longer as far as I know. The price on that reflects it. The point is to attract people to the G4 and away from a G3.

    @Timofonic

    Do you even like the Pegasos anymore? All I see you posting is negative things. Why dont you just leave if you are not happy with the current situation of things?

    Ascii, when I bought my Peg1 back in 2002 it was also more expensive than it is now and I was happy to give away my money for that and am happy with it since almost two years now (I am that satisfied, I didn't even asked for the PegII upgrade or the AprilII fix)....

    But to the point: If you want to sell G4s in favour of G3 then do so. If it is no more produced then okay. Just sell the last units for the old price and then drop it due to being sold out. Easy as that. But if ppl have a demand for G3 then one would do good to deliver this demand. The 299 EUR scheme was just a hell attractive and I found some more ppl (little companies)who were interested to give it a try, but 500 EUR is too much for them.
    Also there was a G3GX modul announced, well where's that then?
    Somehow I do not get it why it should make sense to rise up the G3 price that much. If my price informaton is correct the difference between a G3/600 is around 100 US $ compared to the used G4/1000. And why is the 7447A still not used?
    A 1000 Mhz 7447AHX1000LB is even listed for around 10 US$ less then the used 7447RX1000LB (The 7447AHX1000NB version is only 10 US$ more than the currently used G4 - and the 7447AHX1000NB is the object of desire - that one can easily run passively cooled!). And why no faster G4s? The 7447A is available up to 1420Mhz, the 1267 Mhz version (7447AHT1267LB) is only around 60 US$ more expensive than the currently used G4.

    @timofonic

    The 7447A would be nice but I think it consumes more than 8 watts.

    The 750CXe is still excellent for MOS. It's fanless. It's silent. It's the lowest wattage modern PPC I believe.

    I would like to see the 750FX available for the Pegasos. That is faster than the CXe but still fanless I believe and still very low wattage.

    The use of a low wattage processor means that you get better mobile capabilities or at least the potential for that should a Pegasos laptop be produced. You get the advantage of silence if it's fanless.

    You don't need those Amtel things, the normal Freescale's just doing
    fine. The 1Ghz MCP7447AHX1000NB eats only about 8 watts (drystone
    test) and costs around 190 US $. Just reread my previous post.

    Yeah, that was a good comment Zylesea.

    I hope the 7447A is really very low wattage and fanless and economical. I am not 100% sure it is fanless though. I think we need an engineer to tell us.

    I remember some post from a Teron owner who had a 750FX in there. The 750FX is normally fanless but he found his to be running a bit hot, so he put a fan on it IIRC. I like the 750FX though, I think there were others who had no such heat problem with it. Maybe it was something else with his system.

    It's good that the Pegasos processor cards are now evidently interchangeable, so you plug and play. I remember hearing about the hassle of a year or so ago where you had to test the G4 card with the particular Peg1 you wanted to use it in, and sometimes you had to keep trying to find one it worked in.

    Genesi has given us users some good options by selling the cards separately at pegasosppc.com. Now that they are doing this, maybe they can make small runs of 7447A and 750FX cards so they have a little stock to keep everybody happy.

    The Pegasos I CPU-cards are not changeable (between G3
    and G4). I have the only working G4 motherboard in the world
    here and I can't change the CPU to G3.

    @poundsmack;

    Huh I fixed the error. So much for reusing old code. Next time I'll write it 100% from scratch instead of 99% :)

    Could have emailed webmaster@pegasosppc.com though, would have been fixed sooner.

    @Zylesea;

    Atmel's G4 is nothing special. Freescale make the same processor at the same power levels.

    Atmel have what we, now quite amusingly, refer to as "military hardened" products, which is a little different to "low power".

    @Zylsea again;

    The PowerBooks are not passively cooled. And besides; they have a heatsink made out of the entire chassis of the laptop (hey, Aluminium and Titanium make good conductors..).

    The Pegasos CPU card has some space restrictions on it :)

    @ Neko

    Reread my all postings. I said nothing else. I was talking about the *i*Book which uses the 1 Ghz 7447A (and I never hardly heard a fan was rotating inside), also I was talking to heat pipes to the case....

    Regarding the Atmel cpu, I wrote that we don't need such, because Freescale is producing such pretty well. I said that the *7447AHX1000NB is the object of desire*

    It is not that I wouldn't know what I am speaking about...
