Good news everyone,

I just uploaded the binaries for the MorphOS version of Poseidon V2.2. The archive is available as usually from my homepage.

This is an intermediate solution and laire doesn't like it, so if something goes wrong, blame it on me and not the rest of the MorphOS team. Don\'t hesitate to report any problems.

nstalling it on MorphOS is a bit tricky, because some of the files are in the "ROM" file, the bootimg. Therefore you have to add the following line to the MOSSYS:S/Startup-Sequence file just, before the IPrefs command:

PoseidonROMUpdate

If you don't add this, the update will still work, but some components will still remain as the old version, that was delivered with the MOS 1.4 ISO. Also, avoid booting up with USB mass storage devices connected, because this will inhibit the replacement of the class, as it will be in use by the mounted partitions.

There is both an USB.mprefs update (available through the system prefs), as well as the stand-alone Trident program, compiled for PPC. Use whatever you prefer. Trident has more features though ;-}}}}

I've also updated the V2.2 archive a bit, there was some old information in the registration forms (and I've also added the missing SWIFT and BIC codes for international money transfer).

That's it for now. Have a nice time and happy new year. Thanks for your support!

i've downloaded this but i'm wondering if this will work on a Pre-April peg1. I don't want to blow something up.
it's got MOS1.4 on it now.

Well, I think the "lack of approval" was based on the "rom update" bit. Prolly wanted it to be a little more auto-magical ;-)

I installed it, and I'm quite happy with the joypad support! I'll be glad to see analogue support when that comes about, but this is a great leap forward.

Just for reference, I tested a Saitek SP550 Pad and Stick Combo. This is a nifty analogue joystick who's base detatches and "becomes" a digital joypad. The pad works, and the buttons work, but the analogue stick doesn't work (yet). the pad/base can be switched on the fly, and Poseidon picks up the change perfectly.

    :-D Thanks Platon :-D

This is great news! Do you think the new Poseidon will work OK with USB MAME type joysticks? For instance the dual arcade console type that are commmercially available for pcs?

It works on non-april peg here...

Tried USB pad and USB key. (key seems to have problems with big files though... but it may be due to Fat32 (I got german warning messages ;))

    Regards,
    Leo.

do i need to make a mount list?
a 100 meg zip shouldn't be a problem. anyway, i have lots of zip mount files to pick from.
