The first beta of a new modern e-mail client for MorphOS - Iris - is now available for download at tunkki
Iris has been written specifically for MorphOS and utilizes the latest features introduced by the newly released MorphOS 3.10. The program is an IMAP-centered email client that supports OAuth2 for GMail as well as Outlook.com. Moreover, it finally enables to both display and compose rich HTML emails that feature embedded images and custom styles.
Please note that this is still an early beta version and may contain bugs. For questions and help, please refer to the Iris blog on the forum.
Wow - that was quick! Set up is really simple and fast. Looks good.
Albeit I live in my pop3 local strage ecosystem with YAM quite well I am very curious to try this out and will happily retire YAM if the workflow is good.

Beware about POP3. Iris has incomplete local storage and is in beta state. I wouldn't use it for POP3 for the time being. If your mail service supports IMAP, I strongly advise to use that protocol instead.

i know. And hence i probably stay with YAM _until_ Iris gets proper local store support. I'll keep my mail archive local (archive dates back 20 years now). But on first seight Iris looks pretty nice (used the IMAP server).

1: The Iris folder has no Icon, so I had to add one so it would show up in my apps folder, yeah, I know..
2: I tried setting up a yahoo account, and I got this emailed to me (?), I was suprised as I get the same think when I try to setup my account in the PPC version of Apple Mail as well:
Your account is currently not enabled to sign in from apps that do not meet modern security standards (e.g. older versions of email and calendar apps such as Outlook). As a result, we prevented a sign-in to your Yahoo account (Mr.Thingy@yahpp).
Date and time: 31 March 2018 13:13:27 PDT
Location: United Kingdom (IP address: Blahblah) We strongly recommend that you switch to Yahoo's apps such as Yahoo Mail on desktop and mobile and remove your account from all other less secure apps.
If you still want to use an app that uses less secure sign-in, go to https://login.yahoo.com/account/security#other-apps and turn on ‘Allow apps that use less secure sign-in’. This is not recommended and may leave your account more vulnerable to compromise. To learn more, please visit our help page: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN27791.html.
Actually at the time of me writing the OAuth2 code, yahoo only supported the older OAuth standard. Right now this is not a problem and I will look into adding support...
Worked with my hotmail (outlook) account. I had to set the incoming to no authentication and to use SSL. I didn't get a chance to setup the outgoing, but it is probably similiar. Cool stuff. In time I am sure it will grow and be just fine.
Only thing I can think of is, when you go to delete an email, it should highlight the next email under it, so this way you can keep pressing the key combinations to delete emails as you go through them, instead of having to click on each one before you can use the key combination to delete again. :) Again, just would be nice.
