    v1.13 is out!
    - added a simple installation/update script
    - moved data files to sys:data/screenbar/yWeather/
    - if you press middle mouse button over the sbar, the sbar's text changes to "Update check..."

Yes yWeather all seems to working nicely again, MANY THANKS for your efforts. I really like your utility.

I used to use Wetter as well, but that seems to have been affected by some, probably this same change, so I've de-activated that utility, but it's not been updated for sometime which is a pity!

I am using yWeather as a visual confirmation also of whether my machine being connected on the net or not. Once I was keep getting the failed to update message, I started checking my physical connection to the rooter with my ethernet cable. Found no prob. and shut down the machine frustrated & disappointed. Didn't even had the courage to check my connection by opening OWB :P

    Thanks for the update! ;)

I've also been using Wetter still, even though I've had yWeather enabled too. Wetter has just fitted to my status bar that well and it leaves too empty space there when removed :) And somehow Wetter's information has felt more exact with the real weather. But yes, Wetter stopped getting any information and makes a hit to debug log now, and I removed it too. Wetter gets the information from a different page (Wunderground)... so I think it's a different issue. It was broken for couple days earlier, but then it started to work, but now it's broken again. Would be nice to get some update...

Anyone know Matthias "UltraGelb" Böcker thesedays, as sometime back I believe he left our OS for pastures new. :-(

I don't seem to even be able to report this issue with Wetter as a bug onto the Amigazeux website, so I don't see how we'll get Wetter fixed unless one of the Amigazeux members checks in here, or UltraGelb thinks about us fondly. ;-)

Over the last day, or so, with v1.14 I've noticed that yWeather seems to be having quite a few 'outages' - fails to access the weather data, and sometimes it comes up with a report/result as 'Yahoo Error!', followed soon afterwards by 'updating' 'failed', then another 'updating' message which can repeat a few times, and sometimes then the message 'yWeather deactivated' or something similar, followed by more updating/yahoo error/failed messages, then the weather data is found.

Is this a problem, issue for others, and is this something that you are aware of, Thomas (Igracki)

When I read this, yWeather said "yWeather deactivated. Clicking on it started it again though. So yes, this happens.

"Yahoo Error" comes when I get an answer from yahoo but no with no weather data.
This happens from time to time. I fear that its a sign that this method to retrieve weather data won't be free/public in the future;(
Same happens with my gTranslater, it only works one time or two times a day...

If updating fails 5 times in a row, with 10 secs delay between each try, the msg "yWeather deactivated" will be shown and auto-update will be deactivated.
You can activate it again by left clicking on the msg.

Understood, if that occurs is there anywhere else that this weather info could be obtained for free?

In the UK the BBC (TV) Weather is accessible online, could their data be handled/incorporated into yWeather, as they seem to have weather information for most places in the world, or had you another web based site in mind in case Yahoo changes their policy on making the weather data freely available?

I don't know if there are other freely worldwide usable weather services, I do a research when its necessary;)
I only had a quick look at accu weather and wunderground, but it seems they don't have freely available weather data.

Tried v1.15 which seems more like the yWeather we all like to enjoy the benefits of. It's working well for me on my MOS hardware.
So, thanks for your efforts to 'iron-out' some of the recent glitches we had noticed. 8-)

I think I've found a bug. Any time I reboot the temp gets reported as celsius, despite the setting being fahrenheit. I have to go into settings switch to C, then back into F for it to work until the next reboot. I'm in the US for celsius may as well be a different language ;-)

    Ok, found and fixed!

Its because previously I could specify the temp unit in the request, now I always get Fahrenheit and have to convert it to Celsius and I forgot to get the saved temp unit at startup;)

New version v1.16 is online, press middle mouse button over the sbar or get it here, or visit its homepage.

Very cool, thank you! I'll try as soon as I'm done babysitting tonight :-)
