Has the unbearably slow touchpad speed been addressed?

My SoundBlaster Live still doesn't work on G5 and AppleI2S doesn't support recording. The return of 16 bit screenmodes is very welcome though and gfx refresh seems even quicker than before.

Yes, the release notes contain nothing about PCI slot support, so I guess it can be assumed that PCI slots don't work yet with G5.

Please don't tell people how to break their installations, thanks. This is a totally untested scenario.

    Fair enough.

I'll post here if i discover it has borked anything so that people know to avoid it.

Well I think I updated fine. I booted from the new CD and selected the update option. It looks like it put the new boot.img into my boot partition automaticly and made a copy of the old MorphOS system folder called MorphOS_130919205133. I ejected the CD after it told me it was complete, rebooted and it shows on the boot screen I am on 3.3 so it must be all good.

Any way to make 100% sure its updated as it should be?

Just booting from the CD and selecting update is much easier and I lost nothing. My system is running perfectly.

I originally installed morphos 3.2 and then did the Chrysalis pack.

If I update to 3.3, what happens to everything that's been changed with that pack? And everything in my work directory (all programs, games, etc)?

Just asking before I do something potentially destructive! :)

If you made changes to MOSSYS those changes are lost on upgrade. System settings, installed programs, games etc. still work.

    So far so good.

I've noticed that my PowerBook seems a bit more responsive and disk operations seem to take less time. Whether these are placebo effects I'm not sure.

It appears to be running a few degrees cooler and the fans don't seem to be kicking in as much under load.

Any chance the MOS team could release a "Lite" version without all the extra bloat? Or at least compress the download? We don't all have unlimited bandwidth, as a result I had to skip V3.2 completely.

I have the same setup and I lost nothing. My system performs as it did on 3.2 and is working very nice.

Well... you are making it sound as if ~200MB is a lot... When it comes to compression, we came to a conclusion that this would only lead to people burning the compressed image as a file to a CD and providing an uncompressed image will only lead to frustration. Do note that all binaries on the ISO are actually compressed and MorphOS decompresses them when they are run.

I'm glad I dont have to worry about file sizes here in the USA. :-)

MorphOS Dev team should sell CD's for a nominal fee for people who do have the issue.

I dont think we would want that. If we had two ISO images we would have to test both images on all machines. It cant be assumed that if full version runs without problems there wouldnt be any issues with lite version.

Come on, 200MB was reasonable even during my stay in Antarctica when I was on a satellite uplink... I am sorry if you live in a 3rd world country with no real Internet access, but as majority of MorphOS users have no problems downloading 200MB, I do not think it'd be reasonable to spend time producing and testing two separate installs.
