Ilkka Lehtoranta has released a new application for owners of LCD monitors. The software offers extensive tests and even a repair function for the common phenomenon of 'stuck pixels'.It includes the following features:
For ideal results and performance, it is recommended that you run your LCD monitor in its native resolution. On MorphOS 2.0, a change of resolution can be initiated automatically which is not possible when using MorphOS 1.x or any other supported operating system. Furthemore, it is advised to use true colour modes if possible. Some of the included tests do not perform properly in high colour modes while 8bit screens are not supported at all.
Please note that while some program options are only available in MorphOS 2.0, all tests are fully functional in MorphOS 1.x also. Last but not least, the developer stresses that the included Pixel Fixer feature is in fact untested as the developer's LCD monitors have no defective pixels. In theory, this feature should enable you to potentially fix 'stuck pixels'.
