How to drag an object? I selected "edit object" tool (the arrow) and try to drag a rectangle by clicking and holding down LMB on the outline (a little red square appears on it) but it won't work as I expect.

After selecting an object (by clicking one of it's lines) choose "move" from the context menu, and than start dragging.

99%cpu usage w/o any hits. I'll try to reproduce it.

I tried to reproduce it w/o effects, but i found other bug. I send you an e-mail :)

After selecting an object (by clicking one of it's lines) choose "move" from the context menu, and than start dragging.

Dragging objects this way is quite dificult and tiring. Every time I want to make a single move I have to click five times.
    1. LMB, select an object
    2. RMB, open context menu, (and hold down RMB)
    3. RMB, select 'move' and release RMB (I count it as a separate click)
    4. LMB, move object and release LMB
    5. LMB, click on page to make the object appeared in a new position

I might make the edit-tools sticky in one of the next releases (read "move" stays activated till you choose something else).

Would be really great for me (and not only for me I presume) If you would take CorelDraw's handyness and intuitivity into your consideration but I realize you can have your own vision of SteamDraw's development way.

an arexx port for controlling the drawing from script would be nice too,
currently using amifig for this, but the old app is too damn crashy
    and acting wierd sometimes.

I made an eps and tried to read it in Pagestream, but it didn't work.....
IS this due to Pagestream (older eps.format?) or to steamdaw?

    go on with your work........

    Regards Tom

This might be due most EPS-import-filters expecting "packed EPS", which is only a small subset of the PostScript-language.

But I must admit I never tried my files with anything other than GhostScript.

It will be great to use steamdraw in Pagestream for complicated drawings. Pagestream itself has good features to make drawings that are not to complicated, but is is not a real paintprogram. And because studiodraw doesn't work on my Peg your program is a new chance.......

    regards Tom

Anyway, I'm really wondering why you have implemented so wired objects managing method. I mean, options attached to the context menu.
Why not make it so simple like in CorelDraw?
E.g. dragging an object immediately after catching it, resizing an object immediately after catching one of its borders or corners, rotating an object right after doubleclick on it.
Are there any programming limitations within MUI API or so?
These are the most basic functions and they should be as easy to use as it's possible.
And please don't get me wrong. I simply wonder.

Actually some early versions of SteamDraw had that (I think it was so early, that it never went public), but that was before I implemented magnetism which made it an ugly hack.

Add to that that I also had no good point to put the other tools and it went messy.

Later I added the contex-menu and decided to cut out the mess, by putting everything on it and only on it.

But I think you'll be happy by the time SteamDraw turns 0.7R3 ;-)
