Well maybe you should talk to the actual AmiZilla Team rather than to random devs, who have no idea about the project! I haven't had any time free, to get an exe compiling, so even I don't know what problems we're about to face with creating an exe- so how could devs outside AmiZilla have any idea on what's doable! There is very little documentation on how Mozilla's code is structured- you have to just read through the code, and work it out- I doubt the devs you've talked to have spent hours and hours doing that...
I haven't done an update in a while- mainly because I've had no time free the last few months, and also, because we've been busy getting Captain Moo Moo's students up to scratch, so a lot of work and research, but nothing really concrete!
But because of the research we now have a reasonable idea of how everything is structured, and what needs doing. So far the NSPR is basically complete- a lot of work was done on that by Jeff Shepherd before I joined.
What needs to be done, is XPCOM, as it needs platform specific code done in assembler- I have some assem experience, so with a little help it shouldn't be too hard. The other major hurdle is the GUI- more work will need to be done on GTK-MUI, or a MUI layer for XUL (the Moz GUI system) created to get a GUI up. But what we'll do first, is to compile it with the X11 GUI option, and use the Xami X-Server, and see if that works. If it works, It will be slow, but good to test the system!
