    @Fraggle,

I think it is an excellent idea to provide a MorphOS3.1 compatible computer to the author of Cinnamon Writer. I gave a few away last year to other programmers, but if I had known that the author of Cinnamon Writer was interested in running a MorphOS3.1 computer, I probably would have saved one of those I gave away, and given it to him instead.

I don't have the extra funds now to help purchase another MorphOS3.1 compatible computer to send to him, and probably won't have any disposable income until after the first of next year to donate toward MorphOS programmers, or bounties, but if I did, I would gladly donate toward providing a MorphOS3.1 compatible computer for the author of Cinnamon Writer.

I saw a 1.5 GHz Mac Mini listed on Amibay, but I can't remember my login for that to check with the poster.

G4 MacMini's are excellent choices for running MorphOS3.1. The 1.5GHz models are better than all the other models, due to them having 64mb of VRAM, instead of only 32mb of VRAM, but even the models with 32mb of VRAM will work well enough to do MorphOS3.1 programming, or check any developers code to see if it will run okay on MorphOS3.1.

I was lucky enough to find a very good deal on several 1.5GHz G4 MacMini's last year, so that is what I bought and gave away to a couple of programmers who wanted to run MorphOS and check their code on, to make sure it works with the latest versions.

Afaik (new) EFIKA are also available at very low price and MOS-licence is only €49.- For developing a wordprocessor this board should have enough resources.....
    Peg2, 3xPowerMac G5, 2xPowerbookG4, 2x MacMiniG4, Efika (again), A3000T and life is never boring.....

There is only one PPC Efika and it is more expensive than a second hand mini.

The price for the 5200b board is around 180 Euro. In addition you need power supply, case, harddrive and a GFX Board.

99 USD at http://www.directron.com/efika.html since at least 5 years ago.
This is about 77 EUR currently. Of course, VAT and shipping costs may have to be added depending on destination.

    1. No clue if they ever/still sell these boards.
    2. I talk about real prices and thats a price I know.

And adding all the stuff makes it still more expensive than a mini.

    > No clue if they ever/still sell these boards.

They say they do. Unless someone says he unsuccessfully tried to order from them I'm inclined to believe them.
As for "ever", you're joking right? There're 3 customer reviews on the page and they don't look forged to me.

    > I talk about real prices

    Me too.

    > and thats a price I know.

Yes, that's why I told you the Directron price, as you weren't aware of it obviously.

    > adding all the stuff makes it still more expensive than a mini

Yes, I didn't dispute that. I was just responding to the board price you quoted.

It`s really a pointless discussion for two cheeky reasons:

1). There is no reason to need an Efika :/

    2). I am going to buy Claus a Mac-mini ;p

That sounds like the best course of action.
Hope you can find a 1.5 GHz model.

Despite very much doubting success, I've just sent e-mails to Woody Williams and Tommy Hwang. At least they didn't bounce. I'll keep you updated.
