Just tried to boot off the 1.4.5 CD, after the Quark/Openfirmware message screen goes blank(NO SPLASH SCREEN), and then my monitor goes into powersave, then nothin happens.

Was running 1.4.3 OK

Any help would really be apreciated.

1) If you have any PCI USB cards in your Pegasos-2 remove them.

2) Try re-burning the CD - perhaps it's a bad copy.

3) Try a different monitor. Perhaps your monitor is not able to scan to the boot up frequency.

1) No pci usb cards no usb devices at all

2) re downloaded and re burned, no change

3) tried different monitor no change

tried different memory & cdrom drive, still no change

!!!SORT OF FIXED!!!!!

Done a manual install, booting from my already installed 1.4.3, and it works fine!!!

Can't understand it my self but happy that it works.

In 1.4.5, the bootpicture seems to run in a different screenmode than before. My monitor resyncs from openfirmware -> bootpicture and bootpicture -> ambient. If this could have some impact on your system, i dunno.

interestin! i thought i was the only one to have this sort of problem. . .
i have a peg1 april2, 1 gig ram, radeon 7500 etc.
i will try a manual upgrade soon. but the boot cd should work for everyone.

(btw: this definitely is no matter of a wrong screenmode or something. . .)

dunno how could be a matter of wrong scrreenmode i have a elonex 21" monitor and it handles pretty much every resolution you can think of.

Unfortunatly 1.4.5 does seem to be freezing a bit when trying to set a background picture & a reboot is necssary dunno what that's all about, i think i might just go back to linux.

gosh it may be a stupid question but are you sure u're booting the Pegasos 1 img file ?

boot the bootpeg1.img and not boot.img

why would i want to use the Peg1 img on a peg 2.........

The same problems here with MOS 1.4.5 !
