The Amiga name and trademark are listed as abandoned by USPTO! Would Genesi be interested in purchasing it? The basic reg cost is only $335! How about it Bill?

As Bill Buck explicitly stated some days/weeks ago, they have no more interest whatsoever in the brand name Amiga.

Instead he's looking into Atari now...

There's just something strange about seeing an Atari with an Amiga "compatible" OS. :P

    Sure, but why not...

From the USPTO web registration form...

    "Success!

We have received your application and assigned serial number 78258XXX to your submission."

    DONE!

    :-o

    We will see...;-)

Good luck! ;-) Hmm... Having access to both brand-names could open up some very interesting things!

Small revolution, nothing big... With average Amigian attention span (15 min max) it'll be all forgotten by tommorrow :-D

What I find facinating is that nobody has ever made a trademark of AmigaOS, referring to an OS that enables a computer to run software originally created for the Commodore Amiga brand of computers.

    Hehe, good one Saint.

Sorry to spoil the fun, but if Genesi is really willing to use the brandname Atari, does that mean they have recently been purchased by Infogrames? ;-)

Yeah, for those who don't know: Infogrames owns Atari and has even taken the step to rename itself as 'Atari' in the following months (skeptical folks should have a look at atari.com).

I'm really disappointed by you Bill...you stated very clearly that you have no interest whatsoever in the Trademark Amiga. Why the change of mind now?

The Pegasos isn't an Amiga, it is something different. If i want to use an Amiga, i'll go 2 meters to the left where my Amiga3000 stands.

And if i want to sit in front of an Atari i'll go to a Retro Convention.

Please stop all this crap about the names, Pegasos and MorphOS are good, clean and fresh brands. On the opposite side, Atari sucks and Amiga is cursed. So please...
