On the Aliem Projects Page you can find the latest release of Ambient!

It means you are recommended to use ramdebug if you use this version. I.e. I use "boot /pci/ide/disk@0,1:0 boot2.img ramdebug".

The CVS version was enabled with debug and dumps lot of debug information to the serial which slows down everything. Ramdebug redirects serial output to the RAM buffer which is much faster. (Getramdebuglog can be used to retrieve debug log from ram.)

I realized over the last about two or three weeks that debugging was enabled from one day to another and looked for the switch to disable it both in the makefile and the source itself. Although I read the makefile as if a releasedir ambient_release should be build I couldn't get one. Setting the switch in line 12 of config.h to zero didn't help either. How can I disable building a debug version or at least build both versions from the same make?

Please, don't call my compiles "release".These are only unfinished and temporary CVS Snapshots; these compiles are good to know how good the Ambient team is working.

    Bye

Thanks to Zapek and the whole Ambient Team.

I found it very good and quite stable. Good work! Is there some possibility to extend the panel feature like grown up icons mouse over or center the panel and alpha background?

    bye, Ossian1961 :-D

Is this CVS compile much slower, with the setenv variable set, then the old ones?
