guys when i try to update my mos with the new one (for peg1)
the system starts but i cant move my mouse please any help would be
great same i have now with mos 1.4 1.3 is working fine

did u also update the bootpeg1.img file ? replace your old one by the new one.
Only update modified files, not the whole thing. So your prefs will be safe.

yes i did the only thing that is working now is mos 1.3.

1.4 and 1.4.2 are not working anymore not even from booting from cd. mouse is not responding anymore


im despared please help me out here




as soon i boor from the boot image from above 1.3 the mouse is dead.


i formatted my hd but still the mouse is dead tried another one but still no luck. is there anyway to reset the firmware envarc

Is it a PS/2 mouse or a USB mouse?

its a ps/2 mouse and a usb (with ps/2 connector ) from logitech

On my P2/G4 system with 1.4.4 refused to work my usb devices. I tried my usb flash memory and my camera. Nothing worked. When I switched back to 1.4.2, it started to work again. Could it be caused by the poseidon 'downgrade' in the latest 1.4.4 release? (iirc, I have read somewhere, that in the 1.4.2 was 2.2 poseidon, while in 1.4.4 is 2.1)... I will investigate more later.

IIRC,on a peg1 you cant boot from cd when you've
set your boot-file to boot.img.
Since the file boot.img on cd is for peg2.
You could try to set your boot-file to bootpeg1.img .
(IIRC it's setenv boot-file bootpeg1.img ramdebug)

I am not sure about 1.4.2 (I think it was 2.1) but
1.4.4 came with 2.1. I had to install the update
to get 2.2 again.

your problem is simply. just remove the usb devices, upgrade poseidon, then everyting works again. i have the same problem with my Smartjoy adapter. Remove it and when you installed poseidon update plug it back.

Any reason why Poseidon 2.2 is not included in MOS 1.4.4 ?

Sounds like it would have avoided a lot of trouble/questions...
