It likely will be "3D-only" game, but with MOS1.5 ("when it's ready") more people should be able to play it.

And hey, it's far from finished now anyway...

    UPDATE:

+Block moving & rotation works (but could use some "fine tuning")
+Checking for (and removing) complete planes works
+Using seweral different (2D and 3D) blocks works
-It's still possible (but MUCH harder) to crash the game
-Blocks don't (yet) drop automatically after some time
    -Game still lacks score
-It isn't (yet) possible to set grid resolution
-There are no textures yet (but there WILL be)

    I loved Block out :-)
    Kewl!

Could you add a wire to the border of the pieces? I think that it would make them look better. If the pieces were formed by wireframe boxes of a lighter colour it would look even better...

That will be implemented. But as long as it isn't 100% working, there will be option only for transparency, as it's used now.

What do you mean with that?

The blocks at the "pit" will have textures, when I bother implementing that :-)

And of course, the current palette is only temporary :-)

Actually it's more like Blockout than Welltris...

There's already a port of xWellTris for MorphOS available here.

The main difference between Blockout and Welltris is that, Blockout is really 3D while Welltris isn't.

You mean if someone used 3d goggles it is possible to see the depth?

Not really... Although I guess that feature COULD be added later... (Too bad the gameplay practically NEEDS colours)

But in welltris you move 2 dimensional pieces along the edges of the "pit" (So, you can drop piece from ANY direction to the 2 dimensional bottom plane)

In Blockout, however, the blocks are really 3 dimensional, and you can have seweral (incomplete) planes on top of each other.

Test xWellTris and look at my screenshot, you'll probably see the difference then.

okay, the name of the game is "Blockmorph"

    Recent changes include:
    -Working multiplayer gameplay
-Initial AI code (needed to do that for a school course)

About the release of a public version... I might wait for MOS 1.5 release (The game might already require newer tinygl than MOS1.4 was shipped with) and obviously the game works only with supported 3D hardware (Voodoo only for now)

Last week I started a game programming course, where we will code some game as a project. Next week we will supply our ideas on paper.

I'll demonstrate Blockmorph live becouse I'm too lazy to write documentation rather than code :-D

I already told the teacher about that, but what I didn't tell was that, it doesn't run on Microsoft Windows :-D
