    Finally :-D

I'll give it a try; sure would be more handy than ripping and encoding manually :-)

Ok tried and tested.....and it's GREAT! It's about three times as fast as the Lame stand-alone executable! And I can finally rip, encode and tag in one go! Time to :hammer: !

    Thanks for the link.

Very nice program. I dont know how fast is fast though. How long should it take to rip a 4min track to mp3?

That'll depend on the CPU I guess ;-)

    I haven't tried mp3 encoding yet though...

On my peg1 600 G3 it speeds up to an average of 8x, so a 4 min. track would take about 30 sec. :-D

Both of my drives manage around 4.4x (DVD and CD/RW)
and a 3:45 min song took 51 seconds to rip and encode.

On my PegII with Pioneer DVD-R writer it rips around 10/12x. A 6
minute track takes about 30 seconds to rip.

Great stuff! Easy (I LOVE cddb :D), fast and reliable. I have only two suggestions: It would be nice to be new toolbar images (too) (sorry for the author, but I don't like them), and please use shift in the source code! :D (Every word in the program is written with small letters, and it looks very ugly :)

    hello GK-LKA,
i am the author of the ugly toolbar :).

Sorry i am not a proffessional just a beginer who help coder when i can.

i have used only my pegasos (Tvpaint) for make this buttons, this is not a trivial task and the result is not beatiful same productions make with raytracer and modern software on PC and MAC.

Next time i make more beauty toolbar, but why not make YOUR buttons :) ?

sorry for my poor english :)

    bye

What about using standard MasonIcons from AppMI (masonicons.de)?

It also depends on the settings and the track of course...

With a (recommend) quality of 2 and a bitrate of 192 the 4:00 minute track Summertime from the album Cheap Thrills by Big Brother and The Holding Company took about 58-59s (various tries, without disc-spinup-time).

Some DVD's work and some don't. I start DVD's by opening a *.vob file. Mayby if I use the command line options more DVD's work.

    @todi
The recomended (best) quality in Ripper is 2 not 9? I've read the docs but nothing is mentioned about this.

Yeah, that's missing in the ripper.doc ... but it's written in the lame docs!

You can also do some selftesting, 9 is the fastest and 0 the slowest... so guess what is the best setting ;-)
