    What form of Video cards are supported by the Pegasos?
    Since it uses standard ATX motherboard connectors and
    supports AGP & PCI, will it support the standard PC version
    of the cards, or do they need to be the, MORE expensive
    without a good reason, Mac version of the firmware?

    Looking to use it with a Pegasos II G3 running Linux.

    Thanks
    No more peg. :(

    "x86"-cards work just fine.

    Don't know if Mac-cards will also works since I have yet to come across someone who has tried one of these.

    Great!! Thanks for the info.
    Now I'll be able to get a higher-end Vid card.

    Dont go to high end! From what I hear the best card you can use for now is a Radeon 9200. I use a 7000 and its just awsome.

    err 9200 is not "best"

    Best would be Radeon 9000 or Radeon 9100 (8500le)

    @sfitzjava:
    The reason they are more expensive is because they need a special video bios that can cope with the PPC. Since they sell in such low numbers the price is higher to cover the development and manufacturing costs.
    SmartFirmware has some sort of x86-emulation layer which makes it possible to use standard x86 graphics cards. I don't know the details of it. So far it seems you lose of-video (afaik it's Apple's version of VESA). It's not much of a loss though as framebuffer drivers generally work much better (and it's not even an issue if you use MorphOS).
