    I opened a new topic for ytSearch to not pollute Wayfarers thread.

    I started to work on a Hollywood version of my ytSearch AmigaDOS script.

    It let you search for Youtube videos, displays them in a 5 column raster, a click on a video opens the yt.rexx script.
    It also still needs the rexx:YTS_ParseLine.rexx script from the yt.rexx archive.
    This may change in future, when I converted the YTS_ParseLine.rexx to Hollywood.

    The thumbs of the videos will be cached in t:Thumbs/

    You need the Hollywood Player v9 or better to start the applet!

    I have tested and i have a message in the window:

    "Failed to download t:yt_results.html!"

    If the script ytSearch.hwa is not in Ram Disk: it show:

    "File Ram Disk:ytSearch.hwa doen't exist!"

    Any ideas please?

    Sometimes you need to do the search a second time to get the results.

    Please send me the search string if you encounter problems!

    Btw, there is a new version with some settings and internal changes.

    Right Click does'nt show URL, only "About..."-messages.

    Look at attatched Pics:

    1. Guzzi: That happens when searching Guzzi! YT quits after that (Btw.: YT does'nt like space in search string, like 'Moto Guzzi'

    Try again with new version v0.3, I don't use wget anymore for downloading the search result.
    Instead I use Hollywood's DownloadFile() command.
    Searching for "Moto Guzzi" works here with v0.3

    Could reproduce this, the thumb is only 4 bytes long, I will try to ignore such thumbs.
    Those thumb will now be replaced with a blank image.

    Do you mean the video with the Tips man and the small elephants?
    Here it starts, with v3.4 (wip) of yt.rexx and also with public v3.1.

    - added Settings Load and Save menuitems, settings will be loaded on startup
    - added "Settings" menu to switch to Settings Tabs, can also be used to switch back to Videos Tabs!
    - added new Client ANDROIDVR of yt.rexx v3.4
    - the Client settings now has an empty option, but default is the 1
    - the Mode settings now has an empty option, but default is the 1
    - if a thumb can't be loaded with LoadBrush(), a blank image will be used.

    08-Apr-2025:
    - Now I use Hollywood's DownloadFile() instead wget to download the search result, instead
    - Tried to convert YTS_ParseLine.rexx to Hollywood, but it is much slower than the arexx script
      6 secs instead of 0.12 secs, don't know why

    07-Apr-2025: v0.2
    - some internal changes, only the VideoID is internal saved to save some memory
    - the "Search" button is now to the right of the string gadget
    - the string gadget will be activated after startup
    - a video now has a contextmenu with one entry to copy the video url to the clipboard
    - added a Settings Tab with Client, Mode and Console

    Strange.
    You only need to have the yt.rexx archive installed and this ytSearch.hwa.

    Please open a lister with the contents of t:.
    Is there a "yt_results.html" in t:?
    Is there a "yt_videos" in t:?

    btw, v0.4 is uploaded:

    - added a "Recent Searches" menu, will be saved/loaded
    - added a "Clear Recent Searches" button into Settings tab

    Btw: It seems that YT is changing something! Older YT-versions won't work too since today.....

    "Last modified" date is "2025-04-09 21:28", so either he just forgot to update the revision number or he accidentally uploaded v0.3 again...

    If the v0.3 has a recent menu, then it's v0.4;)

    It's still in alpha/beta version, if Michael finishes v3.4 of his yt.rexx, I will upload a complete archive of yt.rexx including ytSearch Applet.
    You need yt.rexx for ytSearch, so I don't want to make an extra archive of it.
    Maybe in the future.

    @AmigaHarry wait for the v3.4 of yt.rexx, it should work better .
