Wordworth 7 installieren klappt nicht

    Ich möchte gerne WW 7 installieren.

    Ich habe die CD und ADF Files.

    Egal, ob ich von CD oder von Diskette installieren möchte, kommt der Fehler, dass die Platte zu wenig Platz hätte. Die SSD hat GB frei, da ist genug Platz. Erkennt WW vielleicht die freie Größe nicht korrekt und spinnt?

    Interessanter Weise hat FW keine Probleme gemacht...

    Ich nehme einmal an, das Install-file referenziert (Tooltype) auf einen auf der Diskette befindlichen Installer. Nimm das raus und er sollte den Installer vom MorphS-Sytem per default suchen und nehmen (wenn nicht im Tooltype den Pfad eintragen oder den MOS installer statt dem alten auf die Disk kopieren)
    Ich kann aber nicht sagen, ob der Installer von FW nicht irgendwelche "Eigenheiten" hat, die es in den neueren Installern noch oder nicht mehr gibt.

    Sonst bleibt nur Installation per Hand.

    Ja, hat geklappt. Der MorphOS Installer hat WW 7 ohne Probleme installiert.

    Gab es eigentlich eine Möglichkeit, Dokumente als PDF zu exportieren / drucken? Ansonsten geht ja rtf...

    Von WW weis ich es nicht, aber FW kann es über Arexx-Script.

    Das das Script enthalten oder muss es erst eingerichtet werden?

    Wie schaut es eigentlich mit *.doc aus? Gibt es da eine Möglichkeit?

    Installationsanleitung dabei.

    Für .doc kenne ich nicht wirklich was. Vielleicht Antiword (http://aminet.net/search?query=antiword). Das kann (ältere) Worddocs darstellen, aber auch nicht viel mehr....
    MOS-Version und GUI installieren.

    Es müsste so was wie WinUAE aber für Classic MacOS geben. Quasi, dass alle notwendigen MacOS 8 oder 9 System Dateien bereitgestellt werden, um zum Bsp. MS Office 98 unter MorphOS laufen zu lassen.

    Ganz ehrlich... ich habe schon mit Word 98 gearbeitet und es bietet heute noch alle wichtigen Dinge um damit schreiben zu können.

    Kannst ja mal Billyboy anfragen, ob er den Quellcode für das alte Word rausrückt - gibt sicher jemanden in der Community, der's auf MOS anpassen würde....

    Wäre ja auch das alte OpenOffice (bevor das ganze Java-Zeugs reingekommen ist) mehr als gut genug......

    Weder OpenOffice noch LibreOffice haben Java jemals zwingend benötigt. Auch aktuelle Versionen laufen prächtig ohne Java. Auf die von Java abgedeckte Funktionalität werden die meisten Nutzer gut verzichten können.

    Microsoft hat damit nichts zu tun. Eine virt. macOS 8 respektive 9 würde ja reichen. Es muss ja nicht das komplett OS sein, Wine bietet ja auch nicht das ganze OS, sondern nur benötigte Api´ s etc. Office 98 läuft auf PPC nativ, ergo - zumindest stelle ich es mir so vor - sollte es theoretisch möglich sein, Office 98 unter MorphOS zum laufen zu bekommen. Wenn man bedenkt, mit wie wenig Ressourcen MacoS 8.x und auch noch 9.x zurecht kamen...

    Das Problem ist das in Wine wahrscheinlich tausende Arbeitsstunden stecken die man in etwa auch in eine macOS8/9 Nichtemulation stecken müsste, was in etwa so realistisch ist wie ein OO Port.

    Die HW Resourcen sind unerheblich da du ja eine 1:1 Umsetzung vorschlägst und eben nicht eine volle Emulation wobei die eben auch völlig für SW reicht die 25 oder mehr Jahre alt ist.

    Wenn 68k Versionen reichen könnte man vielleicht mit UAE und ShapeShifter was auf die Beine stellen nur das wäre dann auch schon wieder grenzwertig so ganz ohne JIT.

    Also ich hab damals mein Diplom mit Wordworth geschrieben, und es anschl. als Postscript in eine Datei ausgedruckt, und dann mit Ghostscript in ein PDF umgewandelt. Direkt ist das nicht möglich... Nur Pagestream, was ich sehr empfehlen kann.

    Wenn WW Postscript kann und eine AREXX-Schnittstelle hat, geht das direkt per AREXX und Ghostscript so wie bei FinalWriter.

    Wird direkt aus FW (User/Other/Convert2Arexx.rx) aufgerufen (bzw. auch die arexx-Schnittstelle geöffnet). Das muss man für WW warscheinlich anpassen. Wie gesagt, ich kenne WW nicht so gut....aber vielleicht weis das jemand hier

    SheepShaver könnte da was sein. so wie ich das verstehe reicht der die CPU durch wenn er auf einem PPC läuft (OSX,Linux, BeOS, du hast die Wahl).

    Der Sourcecode ist jetzt auch nicht so der Riesenbrummer, und nein ich hab mich NICHT freiwillig gemeldet ;)
