Michael Trebilcock created this originally for OS4 - his archive is here - YouTube_URL_Extractor - currently for OS4 at v2.5, last updated December 2023 and it was converted from a prior release by Thomas Igracki for MorphOS from Michael's efforts as version 2.2, which seems to be the current one available from MorphOS-Storage.

Where you have v2.4 from for this utility I do not know?

So, we seem to be a few updates behind the OS4 version currently. Michael Trebilcock, who seems to be a busy guy for OS4, as he has quite a few programs assigned to his profile. If you contact OS4 depot they should have contact details for him - they are just not in the archive or the readme, likely so he does not get pestered by 'bots', etc..

Not sure if Thomas Igracki is still in contact with Michael Trebilcock, but if we are talking about a more up-to-date version based on Michael's current version then Thomas is probably the best person on M-Zone to PM or email to ask about any update/fix being possible for MorphOS. ;-)

Thanks! Spidermonkey did the trick. But playback in MPlayer takes a long time to start and it's very laggy. AmiTube works nicely though with MPlayer.

    @igracki

i also wanted to ask if its possible to improve yt-search script, so it'll show the result with their respective Youtube title? The way it is now, i can only see Video URLs. This makes it impossible to select the desired video

Where can I find this version V1.5? All I found in all links above is js with size 439732 resp. V1.4.

Works now, but all addidional programs, like js, etc. must be located in YT:Tools. If located in C: it won't work.

As Cego wrote: playback (Mplayer) is very laggy and higher resolutions than 320p are not possible now: takes endless time to start and runs as Slideshow! In past 720p where no problem on G5....

Sounds like the wrong video format is being fetched. (AV1 or h265 vs. h264)

Bizarre, the archives don't have all the same files and the same structure... (Tools/, c/...)

Best way will be to have all in one drawer and the script configured for that.

It will possible to do one archive correctly configured and updated please?

My yt_v25.lha archive now contains the updated js (duktape) v2.7.0.

The archive from ghh is v2.4 of os4 yt script, with same file structure like the original os4 version of yt.

    Great! Playback is smooth now!
Any chance we could get an updated yt_search script with YT Titles? :)

    Thank you!

Installed this archive and - nothing happens! Now even shell-window of Url-extractor doesn't open (flashes up only short).

    What are this 2 js-files (...duk_V2.2.0 and ...duk_2.7.0)?

Edit: I found the problem: the old config-file! Works now!

A great "thank you" to igraki and ghh!!

    Aha, thank you Andreas!

@igraki: I've seen that buffered files are not deleted, if video is'nt played till the end.
