I tried to compile it but without much success because it uses OpenGL3 functions. But I found a fork with an OpenGL legacy so in opengl1: https://github.com/mrneo240/wipeout-rewrite

Also today, the author fixed some problems with the color palette (BigEndian problem), result:

Too much transparency and some wrong colors again.... no perfect...

    Technically, it's a different game.

"Wipeout 2097" is the sequel to WipeOut.

EDIT: Ok, this gives an idea for the changes:

    They are two different games:

Great port, it works very well under Macmini (silent upgrade version) and I have still to try under my Pegasos 2.
    Beoworld rocks!

It's an excellent game that works well in window mode but not fullscreen mode. In fullscreen mode, the screen flickers and is very slow.
    The system is macmini.

Are you using Enhanced display? This features is quite VRAM expensive. Might help here to disable if you're using it.

Yes! I am using enhanced mode, but turning it off does not change anything. BTW. The opening animation at the beginning is slow too.

The slowness you're experiencing is typical of a low VRAM situation.

If you're using an image as a background in Ambient, you an also replace it by a solid color that will take 0 bytes of VRAM instead of some MB.

You can also try to start the game from S:user-startup.

As the game won't return immediatly, Ambient will not be loaded until the game exits saving quite some VRAM in the process.

But the real question is in fact how much VRAM needs WipeOut for textures... Beworld? Any hint about that ?

    Before launch game: 34MB used/128MB
    In game: 52MB/128MB
    So 18-20MB, i think....
