Many moons ago I remember reading on a file system called ICE. I think the last I saw on it was back in 2014.
I was wanting to know if it's still being updated or worked on or if it's still viable for MorphOS.
Did they ever get it bootable on Macs?

    Thanks in advance.

ICE-FS is part of MOS-distribution (can be found in contribution-drawer). Unfortunately it's not updatet since V2.8 (2011).
Should be bootable (see history V0.194, Nov. 2009) - i'd never tried it, but I think this will be a problem on MACS, because you dont have a RDB there to store ICE-FS in it for booting. Anyway, on MAC boot.img has always to be loaded from a HFS (or a FAT) partition. OF does'nt know anything about ICE-FS, SFS and all the other amigan FS. Only Pegasos and Efika can boot from SFS and HD has therefore a RDB, in which ICE-FS can be stored, so that MOS-System can be load from a ICE-FS-partition.

ICE-FS is stable enough for useing partitions with a small amount of video-files (a few hundred) - but not realy for normal partitions with tenthousands of files and much "traffic" on it. Copying/deleting big amounts of files can produce errors - which can be repaired by ICE-Doctor, but that's nothing anyone wants........

Well, for me the only advantage of ICEFs is the possibility of using partitions bigger than 128 GB. But I never got it working reliable as a everyday partition.

Indeed, ICE is not reliable enough.

Forgot always that there is more outside, than Macs and BPlan-machines, which are also capable to run MorphOS.......you're right! .....Arrgh!

Sorry for the late reply things have been a mess here. >.< Thank you for the info! I didn't know about the first part but had a feeling the other was true.

I'll have to see what I can do about the Dual G5 PowerMac then. Still running on the Peg II.
