Radeon 9200

This is not on the compatible list of video cards. However, hardware-wise, I believe it is identical to the Radeon 9000 (rv250) except for AGP 8x.

Can anyone confirm that it does or doesn't work?

Well, I'm not into hardware, but I've read in an article that AGP 8x is only backwards compatible to AGP 4x and not lower.

Since Pegasos AGP port is only 1x/2x this might indicate that it does not work.

Some 9200SE works, some others not. It is because of Pegasos AGP bus that is 1X.
However still not understood if its standard is 2.0,3.0 or 3.0 universal.. Someone knows this?

    I think it's a software issue since the 9200
    works fine in my A1.

No, it isn't a software problem. It is not MorphOs to not recognize some 9200, but properly the Pegasos (no OF screen). But as I already told, this happens not with every 9200, but with some of them. You, luckly, found the right one for your AOne. :-)

The OF screen does show up, but when try to boot
MOS the screen turns black. Could this have
anything todo with my MOS settings? (they work
fine with an ati 9000 though)....

I have Sapphiretech and Gigabyte 9200SE cards here, both work under MorphOS with a driver I am testing.
This should appear in the next MorphOS. These cards are AGP 2.0
    2x/4x/8x.
    Hope this helps.

The different cards have different IDs.

The 9200's ID isn't recognized by the MOS
1.4 drivers but might be by the driver of the
    next MOS version.

boing and zacman these are good news! :-)
So you say that with new mos version 100% of 9200 boards will work with Pegasos and MorphOS? There is no hardware incompatibility? I read time ago somewhere (maybe on BT2 ML) that "some" boards with the 9200 chipset were only 8X and so not compatible with Pegasos/II AGP slot. Is this faulse? Please let us understand :-?
    Thanks.

Radeons from 7000 to 9200. So:7000-7200-7500-8500-9000-9100-9200. Some 9200 can have problems (this has to be cleared) and Radeons 8500(=9100) still have no overlay support. Make your choice! :-)
If you find a good and old 7500 take it, or also a good 9000 without fan. 7000 is also good but it gives me little bit slower speed here and pixel corruption at 1280x1024.

    Allright Guys Good Thread!

    Here's soem questions:

    1. What PCI gfx cards work with Peg1? (Radeon 7000 deosnt work) What about Peg2?

    2. I recently tried to fit an industry standard Combo PCI/AGP riser card to Peg1 and since the Peg1's AGP is 8x the card wouldnt fit - THE AGP IS REVERSED :-o
Will Peg2 have this problem? Or is the AGP the x86 standard facing?
The reason for this is I"m trying to fit a Peg1 into a19in rackmount case and need the 2u riser..

    TIA

the 9200SE doesn't work for me.

However I hear that there is already a driver for it, and it will work with 1.5

    I now use a 7000 ! :)

    Hi all!
Why not create a list of compatible/tested/working GFX boards so this problems can be avoided?
I could give a little help with the boards tested by be:
    Sapphire Radeon AGP 7000/7500 Working
ATI Radeon AGP 8500 Working (obviously NO-Overlay)
    PowerColor AGP Radeon 9000 Working
    Shappire Radeon PCI 7000 NOT-Working

    Voodoo3 3000 AGP Working

Is it enought to start!? :-)
Maybe I tested more GFX boards than Genesi itself!! :-D :-D :-D
