MOS does not yet provide a real professionnal GFX software that would
fit my needs entirely, so I would like to know if there is some plan
to port a Mac emulator for MOS.

Even a Mac68k emulator would be great since there is a old but good
    version of Photoshop for 68k.

Don't try to persuad me to use an Amiga GFX software, I tryed all of
them and I use quite often, Photogenics, fxpaint2, arteffect and I
    give some try to tvpaint.

BasilisksII sources are downloadable, it was made to be easily
portable so why not give it a try ?

Install PegXLin, then you can have MOL (MacOnLinux). Also, I believe the old 68k emulators work on MorphOS.

However, I too would like a MoM system (Mac on MOS).

Yes, but i and other people prefers MorphOS..

But... a moment!!! We need native applications, subtitutes of these apps on others plattforms, and not use it emulators! :P

Better make more programs and less emulators :)

I tried today the MOL 0.9.69 Version from pegXLin CD. It seems to be broken or Pegasos has problems. Unable to boot or install MacOS 10.2, problems with MacOS 9.2 during installation (need to run installation more than 10 times to get a clean install without errors) and wont run perfect from disk. Many errors or crashes. I have played a bit with DMA and RAM but nothing helped.

Now I am a bit down with this sitution. I thought it runs better. :-(

I think, I tried Fusion on MorphOS on my A1200 (well, it wasn't quite new MOS version...) and iirc, it didn't quite work...

But 0x0 mac emulator, I would really want one too...

iirc, Basilisk 2 can either use existing 0x0 processor (classic Amigas) or use (based on UAE?) 0x0 emulation (on PC, for example)

Wonder, which approach would be better on MOS... There's no 0x0, which would make full emulation sound like better choice, but if "using existing 0x0" would use Trance instead... Guess it'd be faster than UAE 0x0 emulation

"Normal" A-OS emulators don't work because of the Qaurk kernal of MorphOS. You can't overrule it as Amiga OS does allow this.

(As I am told by Genesis people)

You need a real new MoM!

I don't want to install Linux and I don't want to have to reboot my
Pegasos to use a mac emulator.

Every Mac emulator for Amiga requires a kind of preparemul wich can't
work with a pegasos, but I don't think it is still a necessity for
    MOS.

And yes I would like to have more and more good native programs, but a
little Mac68k emulator (or PPC of course, but the easiest, the fastest
it will arrive) would be very nice.

It runs without any problems here. (I know, I play Heroes 3 Complete for Mac quite a lot) Well, it's not pegXLin.

To be honest, a friend of mine installed the linux and compiled mol on my machine.

MOL 0.9.69 is broken on the Pegasos, it's a known issue that has not been fixed yet (noone knows why it's broken yet).
Gentoo still has the 0.9.68-r4 ebuild though, all you have to do is emerge binutils 2.13.* (as mol 0.9.68 doesn't build with newer versions of binutils). Just make a quickpkg of your current binutils and reinstall it as soon as you've compiled MOL.

I'm running Panther here without any problems at all =D.

Apparently MacOS 9 still works without issues in 0.9.69, only OSX is affected.

Sorry targhan, but Pegxlin is installed on a SARGE DEBIAN distro with an unstable MOL. MACosX Does'nt run on it and OS9 is very unstable.

We nned to downgrade The MOL emulator to a stable version, but it is not possible on this SARGE DEBIAN. :-x

The real good solution would be a MOM :-D
but it seems MOL is not recompilable directly, because it is not a simple emulator, but a redirection of MACOS hardware to Linux drivers :-(

    Hi!

MOL0.69 from PegXLin runs great here!!!!
    The problem is the Radeon!
I replaced it with my old Voodoo3 3000 and everything
    works fine without read-errors :-)
    Good luck!

Well, I doubt it as it has already been established by the developers that 0.9.69 has a bug affecting the Pegasos. Maybe you are just using a very early prerelease of 0.9.69. Latest rsync as of yesterday surely has problems, so does the one from a couple of weeks ago. Still, OS9 is reported to work well, only OSX has problems.

    Hi, dholm!
I know that MOL0.69 makes trouble!
Anyway I can use my USB stick on MacOS92.2
    and can burn with MacOSX...
    Everthing else works fine!

As far as I know emulator such as iFusion use the MMU.
If it's true, then it can't be used because MorphOS already use it for its internal management.

Thank you Nico for your answere (since I really don't care about MOL).

Yes Iamgefx is quite powerful, but it is not very handy and it does not seems to be a good painting program. And every amiga gfx software has big drawbacks when doing some particular practices.

Maybe Pixel32 would be a nice solution for MOS (see an other thread) but till then, a Mac68k emulator would be very nice to use an old version of Photogenics or word for exemple.

no one program can satisfy every need. i believe in having several and using whichever i need for the job. and that often means going from one to the other.
even when i have to reboot. it doesn't hurt
    :-D

IFX is great for batching and has all the important painting tools. the only real "problem" is using a tablet. as far as i know it doesn't - YET - have pressure control.

just like basilisk2/Shapeshifter on an Amiga for example...

BTW, Shapeshifter works? It doesn't use the MMU...

yeah, I didn't remember prepareemul... There's any way to force a malloc to use certain memory addresses under MorphOS? It wouldn't be much difficult to make a program that reserved the 4kbytes needed by the Mac emu... It wouldn't write anything, simply would let that space ready for shapeshifter/other 68k mac emu...

is there any nallepuh version for MorphOS? that would work as an example... at least you would force any access to these 4kbytes to other...
I'm going to check out the MOS sdk docs to see if I see something interesting regarding this problem...
-edited- I haven't seen an easy way to do that I guess that more information will become available in a near future
