I downloaded some TTF I wanted to use and I read that I should use FT Manager in tools.

I put the ttf fonts in the _ttf folder, created a folder in the font folder for it to reside, ran FT Manager and selected the source and destination, doubled click on the font and selected intstall and nothing happened.

    Any ideas?

@ matt3 - check in the FONTS: drawer and see if the .otag and .font files for that specific font you added have been created, if so FTManager did its job. 8-D

Hah! It did create those files. Now why doesn't MorphOS see them in system/fonts?

You may check the file access with Snoopium.

I ran snoopium, when I loaded system settings it said: Preferences Open muidebug Read Fail and Preferences Open sys/FONTHINTING Read Fail 3 times. It said the same message once I loaded fonts.

@ matt3 - Are you looking in the font folder with the "All Files" or "Thumbnails" options active - if you are in browser mode (Ambient Settings> Window> Browser Mode 'ticked'), so you can see all the files in the folder, including the .font and .otag files, as they don't have an icon so you can't see them otherwise. ;-)

    I figured it out!

Under fonts Hinting was set to auto turned it to Normal and the fonts appeared.
