    I dug up my old Mindwalker disk, plopped in my Peg's floppy (I've got a catweasel). I loaded it up to see how far it would go.

    Funnily enough it started to load up, opened up a new screen, and then backed out stating that it couldn't allocate the sound channels.

    Would have been interesting to see how far I would have gotten if it decided to continue on without sound.

    Well my original post wasn't meant to spur this "need Paula emulation" discussion. I just thought it was interesting to see how far MindWalker (that's the old Amiga branded videogame and not the renamed Voyager) worked on a Peg.

    If I wanted to play it, I would have just used UAE. :)

    ComicSetter almost ran on my Peg too, but I needed to use "degrader" to put it in NTSC mode. But it started freaking out after a little bit. (Couldn't import graphics that were too large, etc.) It workes great on UAE, but it doesn't work from a harddrive install, just a floppy one.

    I actually started to look at doing something like it in JAVA last year. :)

    It's really a fun program, but generally it's a primitive DTP program that most mordern ones could imitate. However there are a few bits of funcationality that I think most (all) modern DTP programs lack:
    -> speech/thought bubbles
    -> ability to import a graphic by cutting off irregular shapes from an original and pasting the result in.
    -> ability to make multiple panes on a page. Only the items within a pane (or parts) in a pane would be visible.

    ^^ can PageStream do all of this stuff? I haven't delved in it too much. Would be interesting to see if we can make plugins or soemthing for Pagestream to do this. :P

    Apart from that, the only other stuff that ComicSetter provided was a bunch of clipart of people in various positions (along with body parts), props and text bubbles like "wooooosh", "bang".

    Believe it or not, there is a "comic publisher" plugin for the CMS that MorphZone uses. I haven't tried it, but I can't say that I haven't been tempted :-P :-o
