I would like to configure MorphOS to automatically start VNC Server at boot. Is there an easy way to do this?

a) start it from s:user-startup

b) put it into the WBStartup folder

Putting it in sys:wbstartup maybe?

Thanks for the quick replies. I am really liking this OS as it's super fast!

I did copy the icon for VNC to WBStartup and it appears to start fine, but throws an error saying it can't bind to a port

I hope this is right (I don't have my computer in front of me):

Start Shell
Write: ed s:user-startup
Write at the bottom: wbrun [programs directory]\[program]
Save file and reboot.

If it doesn't work: just remove that line again.

I entered work:utilities/vncserver/vncserver in the s:user-startup file but it still won't start.

Funny thing is I can type it in the shell and it starts with no problem. There must be something else I'm missing?

Did you write "wbrun" first? Or "run"?

But why did it work on network-startup and not user-startup? That shouldn't make a difference. Anyone have an answer to that?

I did this.. I put it in network-startup but its not working.

I have a run DETACH system:applications/vncserver/vncserver

The .png posted above is no longer accessible.

Can't you run it as a Netstack daemon? That's how network services really should be started.

It's S:User-Network-Startup now.

Run >NIL: SYS:Applications/VNCServer/VNCServer

Just works here.

Starting with 3.8 (AFAIR) it is "user-network-startup".

It will wait till network is on. Here it takes around a minute, too sometimes.
