These programs use overlay video output, which is computed/stored seperately from the screen bitmap, as captured by standard screen capture tools.

You can run some programs in non-overlay mode to capture screen output if desired.

There may be a screen capture utility in development which can capture overlaid output, but don't expect anything soon as the developer can't devote much time to it.

    Good linkage sir! :-)

You asked a question, and I linked to answers to your question. Anything else you want to ask?

How about a single line "Those windows use overlay and can not always be screenshotted. Google overlay if needed." instead of spending time digging up threads. Less is more.

I don't think that would come even close to the amount of useful and relevant information by experts contained in the postings I linked to (see boot_wb's summary for reference).

    > instead of spending time digging up threads.

Somehow I don't buy your concern about my time management ;-)

    > Less is more.

Funny. At times I get criticised for not putting any descriptions to my links, and now you say that pure links without any description are still not concise enough.

Looks like pasting few links takes less time than to write a single line.

No, but as I said, it provides much more information.

    I don't like redundancy :-)

Then how come you've got _two_ legs Andreas? What's with that?

Easy one: Two legs are not redundant as I wouldn't be able to walk on one single leg. And even if I was, evolution doesn't care for what I do or don't like, whereas I do care for what I do or don't like.
One more question you want to ask?
