    Hello,

So after burning a couple of hours troubleshooting, it comes down to that somehow Grunch is locking up MorphOS completely. Swapped out cards, , memory modules, hard drives, mainboard (Yes, even went through the trouble of changing out the mainboards to rule it out. :) ), and still the problem persists. I can even have Grunch opened up by itself, and still locks up everything.

Anyone have this issue? I have a Mac MDD FW800. 8-)

It does the lockup when it goes to check for newer versions. Seems like Betterstring and codeclibrary is where it freezes most often.

Yes, the problem seems to be caused by some server changes on aminet, which trigger some bug in Grunch.

I currently have no idea what is causing it and how to deal with it.

Thanks for confirming... I shouldn't have gone to the extent thinking it was hardware related.. Swapping CPU cards, changing IDE cables, etc.... Unnecessary troubleshooting. :)

Found the source of the problem, so I can avoid crashing here.

Hopefully I will find some time today to create the real fix and send out an update.

It is for sure a bug in Grunch as suspected.

:) Thanks! I know OWB will crash on me once in a great while, but might be related to the way it does pages. Usually on facebook when the crash occurs.

An updated Grunch is now available.

To update just run Grunch the usual way and it will fix itself.

    Sorry for all the trouble.

    Sweet!

As an aside, are you also in charge of the 68K version? I use Grunch on my 1200 as well, but it fails to install updated versions of itself, when I check for updates.
Any idea what gives? It'll download the update, but then fail to install it.
Other items generally download and install okay.
