OGR-26 will be soon closed: 62.52 % completed (82 days working).
According to CPU/OS statistics, MorphOS could beat OpenBSD!

My Pegasos 2 G4 and EFIKA are running OGR-26 on MorphOS 2.2 all days.
Please join We have a chance to lessen their lead and beat them.
It would be nice 6th place - OS: Win, Linux, MacOS X, FreeBSD, Solaris, MorphOS and then others

Of cource beating Solaris would be nice too, maybe later...

Mobilize DnetC OGR-NG MorphOS clients, please

These are statistics for combinations of CPU and OS. For a real OS-centric statistic you would have to sum up all occurrences of a particular OS, i.e. AMD-64/OpenBSD plus X86/OpenBSD for OpenBSD. So MorphOS probably won't be able to beat OpenBSD.

Yeah, I now that! And I think that it's possible to beat all OpenBSD's.

OpenBSD now: 1,414,607 (AMD-64 + X86)
MorphOS now: 1,066,565 (PowerPC)

Last 10 days average:
OpenBSD: 215,884 -> 21,588/day
MorphOS: 145,322 -> 14,532/day
Diff: 70,562 -> 7,056/day
Me: 12,451 -> 1,245/day

~50 days remaining:
1,414,607 + 50 * 21,588 = ~ 2,494,007
1,066,565 + 50 * 14,532 = ~ 1,793,165
MorphOS needs: ~ 700,000 more -> ~ 14,000/day

And tada: 12 more users like me * 1,245/day = 14,940/day and MorphOS would be better than all OpenBSD platforms

But there is more than 12 users I hope, so 15000/day (just to be sure) =
20 MorphOS users and only 750/day or
30 MorphOS users and only 500/day or
40 MorphOS users and only 375/day or
50 MorphOS users and only 300/day etc.
It's even possible to deliver more than 1,600 Gnodes/day for me.

So we have power to beat OpenBSD for sure. It seems that not so much DnetC clients are running all over the world, the difference between MorphOS and OpenBSD is not so great as it seems.

And only 17 participants are on Distributed Pegasos Team (OGR-26)

Quite to my surprise, we did it today :-)

...did beat AMD-64/OpenBSD, that is. Generally, OpenBSD (AMD-64 + X86) is still far ahead of MorphOS.

...and could preserve our advantage over AMD-64/OpenBSD till the finishing line :-)
Overall though, MorphOS didn't even get near OpenBSD.

Hmm, because Distributed.net don't count my MorphOS gnodes more than one month (since 18 June)! I tried to delete fetched work and fetch new data, but nothing helps. Many wasted CPU time - still zero OGR-27 gnodes since 18 June for me I think that more people has similar problem according to Distributed Pegasos Team stats - zeros since similar date in June 2009. What's wrong? Some problem in MorphOS client or in general? But some people in team can continue. Any idea?

Even though the download page indeed lists July 27th as release date of the latest MorphOS client, the actual archive I get when clicking is still the one from May 9th. Did I overlook something?

Exactly, and this actual 2.9105-511 version is the one from May 9th.

Distrubuted.net accepts gnodes produced by new client (2.9105-511).

I checked newer version of client earlier (before Jul 27) on DNetC site, there was still no new MorphOS client... but now there is - finally Downloaded & G4 is crunching now, waiting for results. Thanks mobydick!

It is not so clear. It is a known fact, that most dangerous events in a life of any electronic device are turning it on and off (except of things like voltage surges on power line of course). Then a device running 24/7 may in fact run longer that one being turned on and off at least once a day.

Well...true, but running at 100% cpu/power is something else, too. I would think the capacitors and voltage regulators lifespan will be significantly reduced when run full-out, vs. normal daily usage where things are mostly idle.

At least I know with my classic amiga's I have never had a leaking or burnt out capacitor. I turn them off when not in use and I do not run them 24/7. So I don't know how all these people get leaking caps since my machines are the same age as theirs. Probably it's how the machines are used.

When my peg2 is idle i have a temperature of about 42, at full load the temperature is about 44 so there is no big deal, ok my cooler is of the bigger size but i'm pretty sure you can join also with the dnet client without any capacitor failure or cpu meltdown
