Happy new year, folks. I just threw out my old CRT in favour of a LCD. Samsung Syncmaster 226CW 1680x1050. Problem is, I can't seem to locate any technical specifications to anything but the range of the horizontal and vertical frequencies on this sucker.

When setting up a new monitor in MorphOS, one need quite some parameters, like pulse offsets and polarities. I had a look at this thread, but these settings didn't work at all. Any suggestions for a "generic" 1680x1050 screenmode, or does this vary a lot between different monitors?

Time to pop a beer. Cheers.

don't know if it can help you to find a solution but i could never make my 22" wide monitor to work with VGA. I know someone like me too, and for both of us it works well on DVI.

    Hi!

I'm using a Samsung 22" 223BW Widescreen TFT, it is as far as i know the same model but just working with 5ms.

    Have a look at this:
    Pegasos II G4 @1.0GHz, 1GB DDR Ram, Radeon 9200Pro, 240GB SSD+160GB HD, MorphOS 3.18, AmigaOS4.1 FE, Debian 8

Hey Cego, sounds almost similar to mine. Could you please provide me with the ModeEdit settings of your screenmode. That would be great.

Yeah, I'm using DVI. Didn't try VGA, coz I got some lower resolutions working with DVI (like 1440x900). Didn't succeed with 1680x1050 yet, though.

Maybe I'm blind, but I don't see anything? Did you upload a file to the message?

Tried it now, it didn't seem to have any 1680x1050 resolution. I managed to use some of the other avalible modes (1280x960), it looks kinda crap but thanks anyways :-)

In that case you try to create one yourself .....

Start by setting one big monitor.

    Create a new mode.

Select 1280x1024 (you may have to try the 70Hz or 75Hz mode).

Change the resolution, frequency should drop to something round 60Hz (perfect for LCDs).

Fiddle with the pixelclock till get a perfect result.
