I just got my os4.0 for classic cd which I would like to backup.
So I thought I make a copy off it on my peg2 with makecd.
    But that's a nogo.
First it wants to have a blank cdrom (why?) and when the program asks for the "correct cd" I put in the cd to copy, it errors with:

    Source drive,CDR_SCSI3_ATAPI
CD track read failed for block 103
CMD MODE_SELECT_6 =>ILLegal request:Illegal field in Command Descriptor.

I tried different cdromdrive's different cd to copy 2 cdromdrive one to read one to write.
I also tried with and without imagefile.

Is this part non working on peg?
No amiga to quickly test or I got to disammble my 1200.

I never used Copy CD functionality in MakeCD but I can read and write CDs with MakeCD without problems.

Are you using 80 wire cables btw?
    1 + 1 = 3 with very large values of 1

I tinkered with the settings in makecd.
I set the reading drive to the cdrom driver..was cdr atapi.
No it seems to work but no cdrom has been burned.
At least no icon showing up in ambient for this cdrom and my windows thing also doesn't see anything on the cdr.
Fpan does see a datatrack on the cdr.
I tried closing the disc in Fpan and makecd no help.
Do I need to fall back to a supported scsi cdromburner?
Like the yamaha CRW 4416? If I can find one I do have a scsi pci card inside which workes ok with my scanner.
But these old burners are not easy to find anymore.
Or can anybody confirm a working cdrom burner which does copy cd's?
I prefer ide as my case can only hold one cdromdrive and scsi is I think nogood for booting morhposcdrom if needed?

    Maybe someone else also interested.
    I purchased a yamaha CRW4416S it's a scsi rewriter(4 4 16).
It copies cd's with makecd 100% ok.
Guess even the most modern cdrewriters have incompatibility problems with the atapi driver in makecd.
Now off to find me a external housing for this cddrive.

My Plextor PX-W2410A drive works fine with the atapi driver in MakeCD. Trying to read a CD with my LG DVD-ROM drive I got the same error as you.
