I just had Aweb going again after some tinkering.
I used Ibrowse for a long time but no I notice a great speed
    up compared to Ibrowse.
    Why is this?
Also even the newer Ibrowse version crashes badly at ebay sites.
Is there a way to emulate another platform and use an other browser?
In a usable way that is.
It just is for these occasions where you can't use Ibrowse,Aweb.
And Sputnik isn't that usable right now for browsing too Beta..

I neither have a problem with (german) ebay and ibrowse nor does Aweb seem remarkable faster here (but I havent measure it).
Are you using IBrowse 2.4 and the morphos-native JScript library?
Maybe you can provide some websites with problems/speed difference for comparison.

Both IBrowse and AWeb work fine for me.
Aweb is slightly faster, but Ibrowse has much
more options, it?s 68K and Aweb has native MOS port.

But IBrowse in particular, hangs on ebay.com on
    my setup too

Yes ebay.de in my case hangs ebay.
Or http://www.motozoom.nl try to enter the webshop.
As Macemulation a possible solution for a browser?
    Or to slow?

    Hi !

I've got same problem with ibrowse with or without flash plugin. I use sputnik to surf on ebay site.
I think it's mui class problem, i've got lot of disorder in my MOS partition.

I use Aweb, because it's blazing fast and stable.

Ibrowse locks my system shortly after start or when rezising the window.

I really wonder, why Ibrowse (Demo) is that unstable on my system ...

Thanks a lot !! After using trance-update, ibrowse works stable.

Although I still think, aweb is my favourite, I must admit, that ibrowse works better on sites with lots of special features.

Sorry to drag up a thread from the depths, but it seemed slighty better than starting on afresh.

But I've just downloaded aweb from http://www.greyhound-data.com/gunnar/aweb/index.htm?page=downloads

When I try to run it "Can't open window.class" , I've had alook on Aminet and the interwebs, but I can't seem to find it, Where do I find it these days?

"The snapshots on this site will run out of the box.
Just decompress the archive, start Aweb and surf."

Wonder if he actually, like you know, tested it...

Disabling javascript makes IBrowse lot faster and stable (I only enable it on sites really needing it (site prefs for regular sites or quick prefs for occasional needs)).

Someone was also having slowness with IBrowse because of the connections number or memory cache settings. Can't remember which one, but it was configured for pretty lowend needs, which isn't good idea on ultra fast MorphOS systems ;)

1,2. Nowhere, AWEB homepage doesn't exist ATM unfortunately.
    3. Do you mean Classact stuff included with AWEB? No idea.
    4. Probably yes, but old versions crash with 3Dlayers. I use my own build (from Feb 12 2009) which works quite ok but w/o SSL, it doesn't feel much diffrent though.
